Herb Howard is
joining us. Herb Howard is here. Herb joins us in studio right now and he smells great. And that to me,
that is bonus points. Herb immediately showed he was gonna be somebody asking meaningful questions. He's gonna ask a question that everyone else in the room is gonna wanna know the answer to.
Is there enough time to get the guys kind of back into the spaces that you originally kind of had them sliding in your mind at the beginning of the game? Yeah, I mean, that's a great question, Herb.
Well, thank you so much, Herb, for joining us. This has been a lot of fun.
It's always fun with you guys. You are absolutely amazing. I listen to you guys when you don't invite me, so it's really good.
With Rahimi and Grody. Get a toke of this guy. He smells great, I'm telling you. On 1043, the score. It's Rahemian Grody at 104-3 the score. Let's talk some Bears with Herb Howard, who is joining us from Hallis Hall right now as the Bears get ready for the Vikings. Herb, what's going on, man? Oh dear and this is a uh
Herb is in the Matrix. We have to retrieve Herb from robot Brad Bigsland.
He's got the brain mask on right now, too. Oh man, and it's Dennis Allen day. This is like a moment of truth here to find out A, what Dennis Allen is saying, and B, find out if he's a little more willing this year to talk about what happened in the game as a forward two. Let's just keep it moving forward. No, it doesn't work that way. You have to answer questions about that game unless the NFL, unless the Bears. want to allow the media to talk to the defensive coordinator on Monday. Take two. Hi Herb. Are you with us? I believe so. Grody,
what's going on, Lila? How y'all doing? Yeah, you sound much better.
Crystal Clear FM. What what is happening out at Hallis Hall today, buddy?
Well, as you know, Grody, we got a chance to speak to the coordinators today, offense, defense, special scenes as well. We also had an opportunity to speak to the defensive assistants today out in the midway. Uh the only thing about talking to the coordinators at this point in the week is they've turned the page. And so they're now all on to the Minnesota Vikings and trying to go back and get information or about how they evaluated what happened in week one is a little bit tough, especially with DA. We did get a couple of things about him, specifically getting an opportunity to talk with him about the capacity. the the performance of his two starting cornerbacks, Tyree Stevenson and Jalen Johnson, neither one of them had their best game.
Coach DA he spoke about that this morning. Tyreek and Jalen were pretty critical of their play this past week. Like What do you two veteran guys, what do you tell them trying to get ready for week two, knowing that they had a great training camp and might not have shown up the way they wanted to week one?
Yeah. Line up again, let's go. Week two. You know, I mean like we we have to be we have to be man enough to Um admit and and and see where we fell short. All right. What can we do to improve our performance? What can we do to maybe improve our preparation? Those types of things. Um And then let's focus on play an outstanding this week. Uh because that one's done. You know, let's move on to this one. Um Uh and let's let's play better as as a as a group.
And guys, as long as it's not especially with Jalen Johnson, not so much Tyreek Stevenson, as long as it's not physical as it's that seems to be the case, then I'm okay with Jalen Johnson, 'cause he's the one I worry about. Like I'm okay with Jalen Johnson not having a great week, but we know how good he is.
But at the same time, the the thing is, that's not what you told them. So what'd you tell them? And that's what we're trying to figure out.
Yeah, they're gonna keep a lot of those things in-house, unfortunately, Leila, especially by this time of week. And Dia, he's he's as much of a stickler for that as anybody else in just in terms of turning the page. Shout out to the beat because we were kind of relentless and trying to get some information about, you know, how he evaluated the game, in which the defense gave up 37 points.
