I'm sitting in the dugout in St. Louis. We've got some cloud cover. It's still hot, but I'm feeling pretty good. On fire, offensively, what is happening that is producing so many outstanding results? Four hits last night, including a home run, first one since April. Why are things good? Yeah, I mean, I've had a good amount of line drives in general. I think that's always, you know, we talk about that a lot and might sound boring and the same answer every time.
But I feel like you control for randomness the most when you're hitting good line drives. I've had some balls fall that, you know, haven't been hit particularly hard, which always is helpful. But yeah, sprinkle some slug in there and that always feels good. I haven't looked at the numbers in terms of pitches per plate appearance or anything like that, but with two ducks on the pond there last night, loved you swinging at the first pitch and just shooting one up the middle for that two-run single. Do you feel aggressive in a different way when the line drives are coming, or why so comfortably aggressive right there in that big moment? Yeah, I think I've been a little more aggressive in general, I think.
you know, I think we always want to be selectively aggressive to, you know, in a perfect world, you're always ready to hit, but always ready to shut down on what you don't want. And, um, I wish it felt that simple, but, um, yeah, just looking for something to hit hard in that situation with the infield end and, um, felt good to come through in a big spot. How would you describe what you've seen from, from David Peterson over the last three starts? He's been really good for you guys. Yeah. I mean, I think his mix makes a lot of sense with our team in general, just with, um, I think our ability to game plan a Tommy Haddaby in our catchers and then our defense with a guy who can get a lot of ground balls with a sinker from a really high release that gets a lot of weak contact.
So all credit to him. I imagine it's really challenging to – switch teams in the middle of the season and he's handled it incredibly well and just a lot of big games for us already he's excited to play in front of you guys as a defense and that's got to be relaxing on some level but the pitching infrastructure man these guys can coach and help tweak guys along the way see gavin hollowell with a new change up
