Who is Clay Harbor and why is he on the show?
Clay Harbor, former NFL player. Clay Harbor, slot to the left. Here's Vick's pass, and it's caught. Touchdown by Harbor. That's a touchdown. Clay Harbor makes that catch, and they've got Harbor for the touchdown. Football analyst for Chicago Sports Network.
comes of colson loveland if we're talking about the 2026 season no tight end was better than him in the second half of the season the first nine weeks hit 116 yards the next nine weeks he had 570 something yards and he had six touchdowns this guy got better as the year went on as a blocker as a catcher and he did this in big time games play harbor with rahimi harrison grody on 104.3 the score
We welcome back to the studio Clay Harbor. He is at Clay Harbs 82 on X, the nine-year NFL veteran. It's been a big pro football show day here on the score because we had Ruthie Polinsky filling in his co-host on the big pro football show on CHSN this morning. And of course, alongside David Hawk. Clay, good to see you. Why did you ride your bike in this? Are you okay?
You know, I thought that maybe this was being overblown a little bit. Oh, you didn't look out the window? It felt like I was smoking two cigarettes at once. It smelled like Marshall Harris was trying to barbecue some chicken in his kitchen on the way here. Just to give you guys maybe a little insight to what the smell like. But I regret the bike ride here. And on the way back, I don't know, do I leave my bike and just like Uber? Yeah, Uber.
I mean something. This is bad.
It was bad. It smells like mezcal neat outside.
Mezcal is good.
Yes.
This is not.
Smoky, burnt mezcal. Yeah, it's very smoky. All the smoke. Chicago, by the way, guys, very unhealthy. It's one of three of the four, I guess, bad air quality places on the planet right now. Detroit's number one, Minneapolis number two, Toronto number three, Chicago number four. And somewhere in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is number five and Delhi, India is number six.
Do we know how long this is going to last for all the weekenders out there looking forward to a nice Chicago weekend? How long do we have this, Marshall? Are you a weather guy? I don't know.
You do a lot of TV. I don't do like an Al Roker impersonation.
Now let's see what's going on in your neck of the woods.
I can get my guy, Albert Ramon or Cheryl Scott. There's people I can call about this, but I don't know. On break, text one of your people. I will text. We will have an update for you on the smoke.
We have WBBM next door. They also do weather.
That's true.
Yeah, so we're set. But the bottom line is don't be going outside, Clay.
Yeah. According to Tyler's AccuWeather app, the conditions out there, it's like smoking seven cigarettes right now if you go out there and breathe that in.
I wonder how many I just had on my bike ride, man. Never smoked a cigarette in my life. This is my first one today. You just had like three packs on your right here.
How bad is the Chicago smoke and why did Clay regret biking in?
Yeah, that seems like initiation by fire.
I see what you did there.
I didn't even mean to. Yeah, unfortunately. No, it's not. It's bad. Clay, there's some audio that we want to get to with you because, well, it's about tight end play. And Colson Loveland was on with Bustin' with the Boys, very famous podcast. Colson talked about building chemistry with Caleb Williams once he got to Chicago.
Yeah, I think it starts with trust for sure. You know, being where I'm supposed to be at. And then, you know, making plays when he does throw it to me when I'm not maybe necessarily open. And he just kind of needs somewhere to go with it. But then I also think like off the field has a lot to do with it too. Really getting to know someone off the field, doing things like golfing or, you know, just – I think that goes a long way too. But during the season, like after practice, we'd always get, you know, anything in the game plan we didn't get throughout the week or we missed or whatever. Every time after practice, we'd probably get 10, 20 routes. And after doing that, it was kind of like, okay, this is definitely paying off.
And he's gaining more trust with me.
