Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?

1.128 - 3.893 Caleb Williams

This hour is brought to you by Cars for Kids.

0

5.375 - 23.165 Olin Krutz

The views and opinions of Laila Rahimi, Marshall Harris, and Mark Grody should not be taken too seriously. Especially when they give advice. Do not take Marshall's analogies literally. Especially when it comes to Russell Dorsey. The sports thoughts of Rahimi, Harris, and Grody may change at any time. It's just sports. Okay, thanks, bye. Rahimi, Harris, and Grody.

0

23.405 - 24.246 Ben Johnson

10 to 2.

0

24.607 - 27.051 Olin Krutz

On 670 The Show.

0

28.043 - 41.601 Caleb Williams

Has it finally set in that the Bears beat the Packers yet? For me, I think it was last night. I finally accepted it. Like, wholeheartedly. Because I was still in disbelief. I can't believe they won that game mode until last night. And then I was like, they won that game. They won.

41.722 - 61.36 Olin Krutz

Pinch me, this must be a dream. Mr. Anderson, I should have probably warned you. Yeah, you probably should, but why spoil the fun? Preparing for the show Monday morning, so I needed that second day to let it all settle in. I think that's when I was literally walking to work Monday morning is when I was like, you know what? The Bears are still alive and they beat the Packers to do it.

61.501 - 72.062 Olin Krutz

Life is good. Where I am is the adrenaline factor. It's like all day yesterday, I was still at a tent on my walk home yesterday.

Chapter 2: How do the Bears fans feel after beating the Packers?

72.102 - 79.697 Olin Krutz

I was like, I got to do something to zap some of this. So I put System of a Down through my head and through my ears. Wake up!

0

80.138 - 87.75 Caleb Williams

What did you put in the makeup? Wake up! Patrick Manley, when did it set in for you that the Bears actually won that game?

0

87.89 - 94.34 Olin Krutz

Today. I thought I made a pretty strong case last week for reasons why the Packers were going to win the game.

0

94.36 - 96.523 Marshall Harris

Yeah, how do you feel this week, buddy?

0

96.543 - 101.25 Olin Krutz

Well, it's sort of like, no, no, yeah, I deserve it. I deserve it. Yeah, you do.

101.471 - 103.073 Marshall Harris

You deserve all of it. Shane.

104.2 - 116.886 Olin Krutz

Shame! Yeah, there's been some... Let's just put it this way. I've been given a warning. I've been given a warning. I've been properly warned for picking the Packers to beat the Bears in a playoff game. This has nothing to do with that, all right?

117.226 - 118.95 Ben Johnson

I'm sorry, then do you mind explaining it a little better?

118.97 - 122.874 Leila Rahimi

Because I'm not sure what's really... Whoa, don't get all defensive, all right? It's just a warning.

Chapter 3: What challenges do the Bears face against the Rams?

883.669 - 897.891 Caleb Williams

We are looking at the Spider-Man meme to end all Spider-Man memes on Sunday when you consider the play callers that Sean McVay and Ben Johnson are, when you consider the strengths of these offenses, and frankly, some of the weaknesses of the defenses.

0

898.933 - 920.97 Olin Krutz

How much do you feel like The advantage goes to Sean McVay, surely because of the experience of having gone to multiple Super Bowls, having been doing this for way more years than Ben Johnson has, from a head coaching standpoint. Because it's easy to say Spider-Man meme when you're talking about offensive dynamics and play calling and all of that. But...

0

921.794 - 925.398 Olin Krutz

I feel like that's got to count for something. I'm just not sure how much weight it carries.

0

925.759 - 948.485 Caleb Williams

So here's the thing about that is I feel like with the Bears, take, for example, the discussion that has really bloomed, and Kaylee Kaler was on this. She was on the afternoon show yesterday. Definitely recommend go back and listen if you didn't hear it. But the concept of changing your game plan because of the data you have, and that's what happened for the Bears. They ran for it on fourth down.

0

Chapter 4: How does the coaching rivalry impact the game?

948.505 - 973.84 Caleb Williams

They went for it more often. Because they knew that the Packers had, especially over the previous month, dominated time of possession. That includes the game against the Bears in Week 16. So that said, you had a feeling, or Week 17, my bad. So that said, you have a feeling that you have to do this in order to be able to move the ball effectively. One of those fourths is going to hit.

0

973.82 - 993.432 Caleb Williams

You're going to have to use that drive because you don't know when you're getting the ball back and not because of your defense necessarily, but because that has been the style of the play calling and the drives that these Matt LaFleur teams had put together. So that said, how does that strategy change this week when it comes to the playoff aspect of it?

0

993.412 - 1012.877 Caleb Williams

I think the Bears' strategy arm is good enough to where it supersedes the playoffs not necessarily affecting these practices. I think if you establish best practices, similar to what we saw there, deploying your game plan regardless, then I have a feeling that playoffs are not going to change it that much just because it's the postseason.

0

1013.317 - 1021.107 Caleb Williams

So I don't necessarily know if Sean McVay and his crew would change what they're doing so much so because of the postseason. Did you get that impression from the game against the Panthers last week?

0

1021.289 - 1027.482 Olin Krutz

No, I felt like they played it almost similarly to the way they played it against the Panthers the first time, and they lost that game, by the way.

1027.923 - 1036.581 Caleb Williams

Well, and math may have done them a favor there, because what happens, the more times you see a team, the more often the outcome will happen that the better team will win the game.

1036.561 - 1045.795 Olin Krutz

Yeah, if you play a team once, the team that's worse has a better chance of winning than if you, say, play the game 100 times and expect the worst team to win more than 50% of the time.

1045.875 - 1060.678 Caleb Williams

Wow, we got another update on the under. At least this is from BetMGM. They just moved it again. I feel like we're on underwatch. Underwatch. So the over is now at 48.5, so it just moved off of 49. That according to 815.

1060.658 - 1067.733 Olin Krutz

I'm going to have to see where this lands and if this is weather driven or not. When I get to talk to some meteorologists later today.

Chapter 5: What concerns do the hosts have about the Rams' offensive weapons?

5419.938 - 5420.76 Marshall Harris

The two-one punch.

0

5421.901 - 5443.777 Olin Krutz

I don't know. Puka Nakua doing whatever he wants. And then the red zone, the fact that Devontae Adams can score on a pass in the red zone because that's what they've been doing all season long. Matthew Stafford is out here creating new rules of engagement when it comes to getting into the deep red zone. And what you're supposed to do. You don't have to run it in. You can just toss it to Devante.

0

5443.977 - 5444.798 Olin Krutz

He's got you.

0

5444.818 - 5457.571 Caleb Williams

We had discussions about the deep red zone and the intimate red zone. And did you notice how everybody started calling it the low red zone after that? Yeah, what's that? The low red zone? It's almost as if we blew it up because we were middle school kids about it all.

0

5457.812 - 5460.635 Olin Krutz

Red zone's still better than the red area? Is that what someone called it?

5460.775 - 5470.385 Caleb Williams

Kirk Herbstreet jumped on the Tom Brady train and called it the red area too. And I'm like, yo. That's what you tell your doctor about. This is not what we call the field.

5471.807 - 5482.259 Olin Krutz

Back in the day when I covered the Steelers, it was the Heinz Red Zone because, you know, Heinz Field. So ketchup, anytime you got inside the 20, they do all the sponsorship for that.

5482.319 - 5483.461 Caleb Williams

Hot take. Ketchup is good.

5484.802 - 5486.124 Olin Krutz

Oh, that is a hot take.

Chapter 6: What insights do the hosts share about Mike Tomlin's future in the NFL?

5539.045 - 5548.595 Unknown

Holy ****, Mike, wouldn't that be awesome? Only if John takes the Pittsburgh job.

0

5548.615 - 5569.783 Leila Rahimi

So that's Ravens owner Steve Bishotti reacting to the news that Mike Tomlin stepped away from the Steelers. But here's our question. It's multiple choice. Do you think Mike Tomlin will open the 2026 season as a head coach of a new NFL team, be a member of an NFL broadcast crew, C, just be a retired dude, or D, other?

0

5569.823 - 5591.43 Olin Krutz

And if you do choose other, I want to know, what do you think Mike Tomlin's going to be doing? I think Mike Tomlin's going to be doing a whole lot of commercials. So I'm going to go with D. Now, that doesn't mean he can't still do B, be the member of a broadcast crew. I just cannot see him retiring and not doing anything and or coaching somewhere else while he's still on, you know,

0

5591.41 - 5607.985 Olin Krutz

he still has rights to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I don't know that it seems we want to give up a whole lot for Mike Tomlin at this current juncture, but I think Mike Tomlin just gets on TV and gets to be Mike Tomlin, both on the set of a post-game, pre-game show, whatever, and also in commercials. Mike Tomlin in commercials is going to be amazing.

0

5608.032 - 5625.012 Caleb Williams

What is it? Auto insurance commercials that Ice-T does?

5625.852 - 5633.402 Leila Rahimi

I would like to see Vivica A. Fox, Ice-T, and Mike Tomlin in one commercial.

5633.462 - 5639.311 Caleb Williams

Here's the issue. Do they just do a riff off of Mike Tomlin, the standard is the standard?

Chapter 7: How do the hosts feel about the Bears' chances against the Rams?

5639.351 - 5652.028 Caleb Williams

Where it's like, Mike Tomlin's here for quality control. The standard is the standard. And it's something random. When you need your countertop surfaced, Mike Tomlin is the guy for the standard.

0

5652.143 - 5657.65 Leila Rahimi

There is a treasure trove of Tomlinisms, and that's a tease for 145 because we're going to go through some of those.

0

5657.67 - 5672.908 Caleb Williams

Also, credit to Steve Bishotti, who sounded the most self-aware and real that I've heard an owner sound in a very long time. That, and I don't like to use these phrases a lot because they get used and weaponized, is a self-made man.

0

5673.228 - 5673.989 Olin Krutz

I just thought of another.

0

5674.029 - 5677.273 Caleb Williams

He started his business out of his basement with secondhand equipment.

5677.709 - 5688.464 Olin Krutz

Well, yeah, he also brings levity, as we heard there in the press conference. So he seems, as you said, self-aware of what's going on through other people's eyes, not just, you know, a billionaire owner, as tend to be the case.

5688.484 - 5692.93 Caleb Williams

He's not talking about taking over other countries in press conferences. Jerry Jones.

5693.23 - 5701.101 Olin Krutz

Oh, man, that's a direct shot. Also, to go along with my television theme, he could also just be Omar of Stud Double. Oh, wow.

5701.221 - 5703.123 Caleb Williams

You've never seen them in the same place, have you?

Chapter 8: What are the implications of the Bears' playoff performance?

5738.003 - 5757.361 Caleb Williams

Yeah, it was Dan Pompei talking about what he would do better the next time around. And I do think he deserves a next time around. I think most people do. That's fair. He qualified for the job. The problem is the Bears qualified him, which I don't know if at the time that was good enough for the rest of the league. He did get to two playoff games in separate seasons.

0

5757.381 - 5758.102 Olin Krutz

How many do you win?

0

5758.824 - 5759.706 Caleb Williams

Don't worry about that.

0

5760.167 - 5760.788 Olin Krutz

Oh, okay.

0

5760.953 - 5776.474 Caleb Williams

So point being, it would be safe to say, especially when he went back to one of the most successful teams in the NFL, that he would get a second chance. So he talked about what he would do differently, which not a lot of coaches will actually come out and say. And I give him credit for that as well. So then he starts getting these interviews.

5776.774 - 5800.728 Caleb Williams

But then you hear what names could be available and could be available and then are available. Mike McDaniel, John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin is tradable available. And what do you think is going to happen in this? Somebody's going to get boxed out of the cycle that wasn't available or that was probably going to be a big name previously. It is just like a depth chart, unfortunately.

5801.269 - 5821.167 Caleb Williams

So I wonder if he probably gets a job just based on the sheer number of head coaching availabilities there are and the fact that his odds are better being an offensive-minded head coach. But I don't know. This is a tough one. It doesn't have the same kind of luster now that we're a little bit later in the cycle than it had originally.

5821.619 - 5839.195 Olin Krutz

I'll say this. Matt Nagy was never on my radar to be hired for a head coaching job. Not that I have a head coaching job to fill, but if it was, Matt Nagy is so far down my list. There's so many other people I would put as a head coach of my team than Matt Nagy. It's a long list. You didn't even mention Kevin Stefanski.

5839.976 - 5841.72 Caleb Williams

Two-time coach of the year.
