James, I do want to get into the Castillo trade because I think what's important here is it seems like this was also a monetarily, I don't know if motivated is the word trade, but there's a lot of money that got moved around in this. We're still trying to figure out whose responsibility is whose. I know the White Sox are on the hook for quite a bit of it. What do you think about just the asset exchange that was this deal sending Sir Anthony Dominguez to Seattle? Luis Castillo comes over in exchange along with two prospects going to Seattle.
Well, they had expressed how much they wanted to hold on to their top core prospects to this process. So in acquiring Castillo, what the biggest value add they brought to the table with respect to Sir Anthony Dominguez and Boston Smith was absorbing the salary. The only salary or only money that's being exchanged in the deal is the White Sox sending, like, uh you know what's been described to me as nominal cash considerations in case there's like a buyout i think with like sir anthony's contract that they would like i think uh contribute to for the mariners um so like what they offered was like we're going to take on money which obviously for the white socks is you know novel to hear that in some respect even though they kind of ran the same play in january when they absorbed the jordan hicks contract uh to be willing to you know in order to get david sandlin the prospect they coveted in that deal
It's so it's interesting to hear them do that, but also like they still have a very low payroll.
