Chapter 1: What are the hosts' initial thoughts on the Bears' defense?

4.385 - 18.245 Marshall Harris

Layla Rahimi, Marshall Harris, Mark Grody, middays 10 a.m. to 2 on Chicago Sports Radio 670. Yeah, in particular, I was not pleased with the offense today.

0

19.546 - 27.936 Unknown

Nope, nope. Nope.

0

27.956 - 33.732 Leila Rahimi

That's it for me. Like, that's how I knew Ben Johnson was mad after the game on Sunday. Did you ever see his face?

Chapter 2: How does DJ Moore's presence affect the podcast dynamics?

33.872 - 40.892 Leila Rahimi

It's not necessarily the initial answer. It's the follow-up. Oh, yeah, he tried to hide a lot of it with his hat, but it didn't work.

0

41.212 - 46.852 Mark Grote

Does it please you? I mean, is that something? That's separate.

0

46.872 - 47.192 Leila Rahimi

That's DJ Moore.

0

47.212 - 64.676 Mark Grote

By the way, somebody had to text or ask, is DJ Moore going to be on the podcast? We'll see. Maybe this week still. Oh, yeah. He did say, like, we got completely off track with the holidays and the days that I'm out at Hallis Hall and the days that Dan is there. So maybe, maybe we get him on Thursday.

0

64.696 - 65.938 Marshall Harris

Why are you keeping DJ Moore off the podcast?

65.958 - 79.338 Mark Grote

Well, no. I would love to have DJ Moore. He said he'd come on the podcast, but we want to do it in the locker room. So it's... Oh, one of those two-on-ones? Exactly. We don't want to make him have to call or get on Zoom. He will, though.

79.358 - 79.779 Marshall Harris

He does it.

79.959 - 82.283 Mark Grote

I know, but that's a pain in the butt.

82.363 - 84.687 Leila Rahimi

He even called in on his day off here one time.

Chapter 3: What concerns are raised about the Bears' playoff performance?

301.212 - 322.341 Unknown

Hey, Jake. Hi, thanks for taking my call, guys. I appreciate it. So just one comment. I agree with Grody on the defense. I know they only gave up 19 points, but that could have easily been a 35-point game where it was just absolute drumming. And the problem is here is the offense, If they don't sustain the drive, they don't know when they're going to get the ball back again.

0

322.522 - 341.413 Unknown

And as everyone knows, the offense needs to stay on the field more to get into rhythm. No doubt. And our defense just doesn't get off the field. And without the turnovers, they're one of the worst defenses in the league. I don't expect to have a top-ten defense, but can we get a middle-of-the-pack with a good offense? I mean, I love that we're offense, but this defense is the biggest liability.

0

341.473 - 350.988 Unknown

And I get Ben Johnson not wanting to speak out on it, but... You can call them out, too. If him and Dennis have a relationship, he says, there shouldn't be a problem with calling out the obvious. That's all I've got to say, guys.

0

351.548 - 361.624 Marshall Harris

He's called them out. They're 29th in total defense. What chairs on the Titanic do you want Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen to rearrange on this defense? That's my question.

0

361.644 - 363.927 Leila Rahimi

You're calling a playoff defense the Titanic.

363.907 - 379.612 Marshall Harris

I'm sorry. If they're getting turnovers, everything's cool. They led the league in turnovers forced. If they're not, again, 29th in the... Hold on, let me give you the teams. The Cowboys, the Bengals, and the Commanders are the only teams that gave up more total yards than the Chicago Bears.

379.832 - 383.959 Leila Rahimi

One of those teams reportedly fired their defensive coordinator today.

384.079 - 386.623 Mark Grote

There goes the floos again.

386.603 - 409.928 Leila Rahimi

floos is loose i hope he's making a lot of money well he is he did yes he did with the bears did with dallas so no maddie is going to be just fine financially and he's adding to the he's adding to the ecosystem by heart by taking care of bees and i wish i were kidding but i do think that matters we're running out of bees you know i want to be a coach why do i want to be a coach

Chapter 4: Why is the Bears' offense considered more reliable than the defense?

555.77 - 558.563 Leila Rahimi

So we'll talk to him about that and more next.
