What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is The Top, where I interview entrepreneurs who are number one or number two in their industry in terms of revenue or customer base. You'll learn how much revenue they're making, what their marketing funnel looks like, and how many customers they have. I'm now at $20,000 per talk. Five and six million. He is hell-bent on global domination. We just broke our 100,000 unit sold mark. And I'm your host, Nathan Latka. Okay, Top Tribe, yesterday you heard me speak with Stephen Kahn, and he told me how his gay fashion brand does $500,000 a year in revenue with a membership. Okay, Top Tribe, good morning, and I tell you what, if you're not in shape, my guest today is gonna whip you in shape. His name is Elliott Halls, and he built his fitness training business, Strength Camp, from the back of his ugly old school work van while he was drowning in over $90,000 in credit card debt.
In less than five years, his business, Strength Camp, has become a pioneer and a seven-figure industry leader with over 1.3 million YouTube subscribers. Today, Strength Camp attracts thousands of loyal followers from the farthest reaches of the globe, fulfilling Elliot's prophecy and dream to empower the people of the world to become the strongest version of ourselves and to empower one another. Elliot, are you ready to take us to the top?
Yes, absolutely.
All right. Come on. Give me some energy, man. You're supposed to be like a lifter. I wanted some grunts or something.
You're not going to get any grunts in this interview.
All right, man. Walk me through... Okay, so Strength Camp, you mentioned you were drowning in $90,000 in debt, but how long ago was that? Was that three years ago, five years ago?
Well, I officially got out of debt. I think that would be a good place to start in 2000 and... So I think I went by 2007 when I first started my business, got deeply in debt, uh, through 2010 and then shortly thereafter, uh, paid it all off and started piling up the mountain to the top, bro.
Of income. I hope of revenue. Yeah. Well it's of course. Good. Well walk me through.
So what's the number one thing you're focused on selling right now? Well, We live in the age of ideas.
So, you know, I'm not selling a SaaS. I learned that term from you. I listened to some of your podcasts and you have these software for services. You know, what I sell is not as tangible as that, but it's an approach and it's a holistic approach to fitness. And that's my idea. I've been a strength and conditioning coach my whole career, but fitness has been a part of my life, and it has not only helped me navigate my way through early adulthood with sports, and it has also supported me in the development of my character. You know, what I'm selling is, if you could call it that, is I'm empowering people to become the strongest version of themselves through physical fitness, physiological fitness, energetic or psychological fitness, and life mastery.
And that's been my personal approach to fitness, and it's been the approach that I share with my clients, and it's been the approach that I share with millions of people through my videos.
So are you selling, I mean, what you just described is an amazing cause, a mission, a focus, but how are you, I mean, you told me that in some of your best months, you're doing over $80,000. What are you actually selling? What are people paying for?
How did Elliott Hulse go from $90k credit card debt to building Strength Camp?
Well, the original thing is, and has always been ideas, like I said. So I've shared my ideas via ebook format. You know, there was a time where I was selling lots of workout programs, um, of course, other ideas that are related to becoming a stronger version of yourself. So I have written eBooks on, uh, Physiological strength, meaning like taking care of yourself in terms of lifestyle and diet. Energetic strength or empowering ideas revolving around meditation and caring for the emotional aspects of our development. And then when I say life mastery, I mean being able to balance those things out and then offer it. Offer what you've created because we're all very unique.
