Center Ty DeLandrea did not travel with the team to Los Angeles, so he looks set to miss the matchup at Crypto.com Arena. It happened during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. D'Alandrea got tripped by Denton Matichuk and crashed hard into goaltender Jet Greaves, forcing him to leave early.
He's already been dealing with injuries this season and has two goals and 11 points in 42 games.
Chapter 2: What injury did Ty Dellandrea sustain before the game against the Kings?
D'Alandrea is a key third-line center and the team's top penalty killer. He also leads San Jose with a 52.3% face-off win rate, something their face-off coach Zenon Konopka praised recently. No update yet on how serious this latest hit is. The Sharks were called center Patrick Giles on Monday to fill in, and Zach Ostapchuk might slide up to Dell'Andrea's spot.
Adam Gaudette could return from a lower body injury after practicing, and top prospect Michael Mesa is back from the World Juniors, but Coach Ryan... Warsawski is giving the 19-year-old a few days to rest after that grueling tournament. Puck Drop is at 7.30 p.m. Pacific Time on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
