More and more these days I get this desperate urge to go away somewhere remote into a deep and thick forest and hunker down in a log cabin for a short while. I don't know if that's a feeling you can empathize with. I sort of feel like it's something that a lot of people feel at one point in their life for either I've certainly heard other friends of mine express something similar to go away somewhere peaceful usually within nature and experience a period of solitude as a means of recentering, reconnecting. you might be able to empathize with that feeling, perhaps. I think now, in fact, might be a time in my life when I certainly feel a little bit like that. Sometimes it feels like I actually don't get very much time to be by myself when, in fact,
Andrew 3:57
That's not necessarily true because I'm someone who works from home and I work alone, so many hours of the day I actually spend entirely by myself. But when you're focused on work and the demands of others, it sort of takes away something from yourself. The way in which your mind focuses, or rather, should I say, the things that your mind focuses on are relatively different to what they might focus on if you were given the chance to simply be yourself and have thoughts that occur naturally to you how do I put it, more easily, thoughts that you want to have, I suppose. That's to imply that during the working day you are filled with thoughts that you don't want to have. Almost sounds sinister, but I simply mean it in the sense that you are influenced
Andrew 5:21
most of the time by other people and the goals that you often seek to achieve on a day-to-day basis regularly are not in service of yourself so much as other people. I suppose ultimately you could say that all goals are in service of yourself. There is perhaps a deeper and longer singular philosophical conversation to be had simply on that point.
