One of my most favourite occasions camping was when, I think a few years ago now, I decided to purchase a camping hammock. And if you've never seen one of these before... I recommend you look it up. I personally found out about them whilst camping with someone else who happened to bring their hammock. And of course, this does require you to be camping somewhere within the trees, within the woodland, so that you have something to string your hammock up against. I think you might also be able to get some sort of fixing poles that are strong enough to fix into the ground if you didn't have that. But why wouldn't you find a place in the trees if you were able to? And of course it does also partially require that you have fair weather for your camping trip.

Because camping hammock isn't quite as rain resistant as a tent might be. But stringing up a hammock across two trees in the woodland and leaning back with the night sky broad and open above your head gently rocking swinging softly side to side looking deep into the night sky up at the twinkling stars with a gentle warmth from the crackling bonfire just over down below you. That smell of burning wood and fir tree mixed with that juxtaposition between the cool night air the hot water or the fire. That is the ideal of camping in my mind. Now it's been a long while since I've camped like this. A long while. Four or five years, I'd say. And I'd love to do it again. There's... Something very grounding about... Wandering into the woods... With a couple of friends.
Andrew 6:14
I think... Well, of course... You should absolutely go camping with as many people as... You feel comfortable with. With as many friends as... You'd like to be there. But... Sometimes I think it's best with just one or two other people. It enables an atmosphere that is more prone to silence, which is one of the better parts of camping.
