Let's take this week, and you thought, wow, after three rounds, I think we'd probably seen five out of ten compared to what we expected from his performance, but he was still right there. And then just he hit a switch. He went through the gears and showed us power, 100%, but strategy, short game skills... relentless putting, right? And then under pressure when he needed those last four or five holes to go, he had some brilliant shots. So now you're thinking, okay, raw talent, kind of like a Koepka looking guy, right? Like a Koepka 2.0. But in his interview and his chat, how emotional he was shocked me a bit. And how he'd felt as though he'd kind of, he'd had a great start. He'd kind of lost it. Nothing was happening.
He was grinding out. He's been working hard at it. And it just goes to show, you know, someone who's climbed from, arriving to really, I'm here, I'm good, I'm in the top 20 in the world, right? How much pressure he was under to maintain that, I'm impressed by that. So the drive to keep going and not rest on his laurels as a 28 year old guy who looks like very gunslinger DJ Brooks yes I don't really care this doesn't matter but he clearly does he does so I had never seen that from him before because when we've seen him winning he's just been like yeah amazing man yeah right it was so cool dude yeah right um But there was a lot of fight in the dog. It was a side I hadn't seen. I'm very impressed by the package of skills.
I agree with you. And he is in that sort of echelon of player. He's not a Scotty or a Rory, but he's in that echelon of player where, you know, when we do this new restructuring the PGA Tour in 2028, he is a championship series player. He is a player who, as I said, is a five-time PGA Tour winner now, who is a kind of name on a few people's lips when we come to major championships. So when he comes to a tournament like this where, no disrespect, but there are lesser names in the field this week, he's the lowest ranked player here. He's kind of, quote unquote, meant to win. But that brings a pressure in itself to then actually go out and do it.
Yeah, I think that it's an unequal pressure. He's operating at a higher level. So what's the next thing for him? Signatures.

Yeah. Majors. Yeah. Everyone else in the field, this was an unbelievable opportunity. It could be winner's exemption. It could be the first win they've ever had. It could be for a 46 year old to have another two years out on tour. Et cetera, et cetera. So it's an unequal deck in that sense. He was probably the player who was playing the most out of, playing for something else and just attending out of his loyalty for the tournament where they invited him when he was, he had no status. But you could tell how much it meant to him. He mentioned that in his speech.
I think a big part of that was the brother in the bag, right? Having your brother in the bag must be something so special.
Yeah, I think the whole package, so you could tell One, loyalty to the tournament from Gutterup. Two, his brother. And then something about their dad, who was the most stressed out guy.
