No, thank you for joining us because you've been at RIV this entire last week, witnessed all the drama up close, but the hard work doesn't stop because you're straight into another busy week this week as one of Captain Katrina Matthews' assistant captains for the Curtis Cup at Bel Air Country Club, which is behind you there. Raring to go?
I can't wait. Team is great. I mean, look at this. Look at this view. I mean, it's just I mean, it's just spectacular here. I mean, just amazing place. The team is fantastic. Everybody's in great spirits. I mean, as you can imagine, and they're just raring to get out there for their first practice round. I think they're teeing off at eight o'clock. We had the caddy draw last night. That was that was fun. And just in general, just it's got some good vibes about this group.
Yeah, and defending champions after a nail-biting win a couple of years ago at Sunningdale. And on that team with the likes of Lottie Wood, Mimi Rhodes, who have both since turned pro and won left, right and centre in the professional game, they're a tough act to follow, that team from Sunningdale.
They are, but we've got some cool players that have come in. You've got your Nelly Ongs, you've got your Charlotte Bortons, you've got Patience who's returning and Beth who are bringing the experience from Sunningdale with them to pass on to the new crop of players that are here. And I'm excited, really excited to see how they get on here. It's going to be fun.
Yeah, as you say, Patience Rhodes and Beth Coulter from the last team as well. And, I mean, you couldn't ask for a better captain than Beanie. She just ticks every box, doesn't she?
She is literally insane as a captain. I mean, every little detail is taken care of. I mean, she is, to women's golf, what Luke Donald is to the Ryder Cup. You know, it's just that the pair of them are like super captains.
Yeah, fantastic. Listen, can't wait for the Curtis Cup this week, but let's talk about the US Women's Open at RIV. Nelly Korda is the champion, a seesaw final day where the lead changed hands amongst multiple contenders, but Nelly birdied the 71st hole to take a one-shot lead up the last.

and used all of the hole as a two and a half foot power putt, just dribbled in on the 18th green to win by one from Charlie Hull and Gabby Lopez. Karen, she finally has her US Open, much like Rory at the Masters up until last year. This was the one, this was the noose around her neck. And now that weight has been lifted, her destiny has been fulfilled.
I think so, but I also think now that there's more work to be done, and I think she'll be the first to admit it. I mean, not since NB Park have we had an opportunity for somebody to go ahead and win the Grand Slam, win all the majors in one year. You know, NB Park won three in a row in 2013. Nelly has a chance to do that and more. So I think that it's... you know she knows that yes this is great but there's still more that can be done but I think for an American to win the US Women's Open I think that is the ultimate in golf and it's something as she said she's dreamed about since she was very little and
