Hello and welcome to The Football Show. This is a special edition where we've got the women's game covered for you for the next half an hour. Joining me as always is former England international Sue Smith. How are you, Sue? Hi, Jess.

Good. I've got some brilliant questions coming for you next. This is the topic everyone's talking about at the moment. How do you end the Women's Super League and the Women's Championship season? As we understand it, So the teams, as we speak, have a choice of three options, Sue, as to how they want the season to end. First option is points per game where relegation is included. Points per game where relegation is not included. And the third option, which I don't think many fans really want to see, is the season voided. What do you think, Sue?
It's so difficult, isn't it, Jess? I think the fairest way would obviously be to finish the league. But as we know that this can't happen due to not enough finances needed to put the appropriate measures in place for the game to go back. So in my opinion, I just think whatever decision is made, there's going to be at least one club or two clubs or maybe more that aren't happy. This isn't ideal, but I think the only way is to null and void. And I just think because we can't predict what will happen in the future, and they've done it for the tears below, haven't they? And you just think that all of the other opinions, It's based on what-if scenarios. So I think that would be the only fair way to do it.
Of course, we want the season to finish. But if that can't happen, I just think null and void. And it's such a shame for the likes of Aston Villa that have worked so, so hard to get into the position that they're in. But I just can't see another fair way of doing it.
Yeah, you mentioned that word fair, and it's difficult to be fair in this circumstance. The fair way of finishing the season is for the season to finish. Obviously, that's not possible. How should the Women's Super League season end?
If you go to Twitter and look at Sky Sports News, you can decide as well and have your say on how you think the season should end. It's a complicated one. I've been racking my brains for ages. And Sue, it's such a shame because both leagues were having really exciting title runs. If you look at the Women's Super League, Chelsea and Man City, even Arsenal were in the mix as well, weren't they?
so disappointed because like you say, you look at both leagues, you look at the Women's Super League and potentially three teams have a chance of actually winning it. And I think coming into the season off the back of the World Cup, there was a real buzz, wasn't there, for women's football, more fans are watching, there's more interest. And I just think if they finish the league, There would have been, you know, it would have been a thriller. You've got to say it would have been a thriller and more interest and hopefully more fans would have come off the back of that. So, yeah, really, really disappointed, I think, for everybody involved in the game.
And, of course, looking at that Women's Super League, that's as it stands. But if points per games were used to finish the season, look what happens. Chelsea leapfrog Man City. Interesting one, too.

16 games whereas chelsea and arsenal had both played 15. so i think when you're working out a game you're not using the same amount of games so you know who could have predicted what would have happened in chelsea's game in hand so it's difficult it's it's very complex and it's not fair keep using this fair point don't we
Yeah, I think we're going to be using that word a lot throughout this show. And obviously I mentioned title races, brilliant title race going on in the championship as well, involving Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
