No I think when you get to my age people see your age but they don't see the stuff that goes on in the background like I've missed nine training sessions this year I've been available for every single game and when you look at the strikers that were at the club at Falk at the time I was the only fit striker for every single game over the course of the season so that's quite incredible at 38 years of age so
I still believe I've got it in the body, I want to go one more year, I want to go enjoy it, it's a club that I know really well, just going up there yesterday, seeing wee Suze and the Kit women and stuff like that, it was special when you walk back in and you can see your posters and with the time gone by with the teammates of previous years and it was nice, I took my daughter up with me yesterday, so we had a good wee road trip yesterday, it was all good.

What did you make of that when it initially came about? Was that a bit of a surprise to you that that move came about?
I'm guessing that the fee was or the lack of fee that is the big one for me because like a good friend of mine is a Rangers fan and I was speaking to him about it and I says to him how much did they pay and he said oh no there was a clause in his contract so that kind of shocked me a little bit because obviously you see him signing a three year deal last year but you've got to remember Shanklin is now in his 30s
he's a boyhood Rangers fan an opportunity he waited so long last summer waiting on Rangers coming it didn't happen for whatever reason with the different people that were at the club now he's got his opportunity to go to Rangers it's a boyhood dream of his I wish him well but at the same time I think he'll bring the best out to Charmitty
I think he's been when he first came in a lot of people hit him with a stick but the big man showed that he can score goals and he scored some fantastic goals along the way and I just think Shanklin's cleverness because he's a very very clever footballer will bring out the best in that young lad and he'll improve him and if they do play the two up front that'll be a strike force to be

Chapter 6: How are Rangers preparing for the upcoming season?
As good young players, my mates are into the youth football. Boy MacArthur's coming through, he's banging in the goals. I think you need to be looking at bringing through the youth as well. And I'm looking forward to seeing the Curtis and stuff coming next season and contributing.
Billy, just a small one. The one, Aston Scali came on in the game against Falk. I think he's 16 years of age, youngest ever in the Premier League history. So Rangers are trying to do things right. I know a couple of younger boys that are signing on with Rangers once they hit the age of 16. So Rangers try to go down that youth level as well to try and promote these young kids into the first team.
But for next year, I do agree with you. I think they do need leaders. They do need character that can carry that weight on their back when it is playing for Rangers. They will need leaders over the course of the summer, 100%.

And a massive thank you from all Falkirk fans because I think the season you had with us it was quite clear the impact you had both on and off the pitch and particularly with Barney Stewart because it was quite evident if Barney was going off at half time you were right over at him you were giving him advice Whether it was Groff, if he was being subbed, you were right at him at full time.
You were right at him giving him advice. And I think we cannae play down the impact that you've had on that young man.
That's very kind of you I really appreciate that Brian thanks for phoning in Barnley's a young boy I had a lot of time for I tried to help him with the training pitch and he's alright I did go and speak to him because I think there was one game after he'd scored a lot of goals and there was one game he missed a couple of chances I was just over reminding him you're getting in the right positions don't worry about it all strikers get in the positions they miss chances bounce back keep putting yourself in the right areas and you'll score goals and I had a fantastic relationship with the boys his personality he's infectious he's a fantastic person and I hope he continues to do well for Falkirk I'm sure he will
Is that something that you have gone out your way to make an effort to do maybe the older you've got in your career or is it something that just comes naturally?
I think it comes natural to me and if I'm being honest obviously when the news hit yesterday obviously I spoke to a few people at Falkirk and a lot of the players wished me well the manager gave me a nice message as well but I got a really nice message from a young boy called Colin Allen who's started the season already playing a lot of football he came on and scored that wonderful goal I think he got the goal of the season for Falkirk as well at the awards night
