I don't know about you, but I kinda wanna hang out with my friends and and I wanna enjoy the I wanna enjoy the outdoors. Uhhuh. And I love dogs. I love dogs. Yeah. I don't love barking dogs. When when I'm on trail. I I just I don't like it. I mean it's sh maybe it's just me. Maybe there's people that are that are listening or hear this later and they're gonna be like, Oh no, this is good, this is good. I love it when my dog's out there just barking up a storm. So soothing. Oh man, the best sound ever. Especially if it's a small dog.

Oh, it's so great. Yeah, the shrillness. Oh man. We always had uh like chihuahuas, Jack Russell's, wiener dogs, that kind of stuff when I was growing up. Dachshunds, yeah. Yes, they're so shrill it makes you cringe. It it's this yip I call them yip dogs. Yeah. 'Cause they don't bark, they yip. So what are you supposed to do though? Like let's say that you want to take your dog on trail with you. It's your hiking buddy, but um you know, whenever you're at camp and it's getting dark And there's strangers around, maybe a group camp area. Do you are you supposed to just leave your dog at home? Like it's its job is to alert you. And that's a normal thing. Well, Steve Wright is on here right now and he said, What if the dog is barking at a bear?

Hey. I don't mind that dog barking right about that time. That's true. Yeah. Actually, come to think of it, maybe you do want to bring your barking dog on trail. Well, it depends. Is it a barking dog? 'Cause you know some dogs just bark a lot. Yeah. Some dogs only bark when it's necessary. Yeah, I think it's a good thing. I guess I guess it's the type of dog. I don't want a dog that just barks all the time.

Yeah, if it's just alerting you because it's smart enough to think, hey, there's a danger and uh and then it's sending you those signals, maybe that's okay. I don't know. I still haven't found a dog that is smart enough to alert me whenever it actually is danger or whether it's just like a package being delivered to the front porch. Right, right. If that doorbell rings, you might as well just Everything's gonna let loose. Exactly. Exactly. All right. How about this? Both of us have kids. We do. Having your kids with you at camp.

Like I think if it's just me and my kids, uh or maybe if a buddy of mine and his kids and we're all hanging out together. Mm-hmm. I think it's great. Yeah. I think it's great. I I love I love camping with my kids 'cause they want to play and they want to get in the woods and they wanna pick up sticks and they wanna look at bugs and they wanna I mean it's it's a lot of fun. Mm-hmm. Um But I wouldn't want to take 'em To something where a bunch of adults are wanting to have adult conversations and There were yeah. There's a time and place, I think.
