Listen, it's lovely to have your company today. This is kind of a little rough around the edges as these things are on a lunchtime. But it's just we like to kind of keep you up to date with what's happening in the world. I've got Tom on my right and I've got Aidan on my right. And I have no one on my left. That's not a political metaphor. It's just a matter of, oh, I've got me on my left. Hey, oh, crikey. Yeah, we're going to talk about that later on as well. Politics, great. Or unless you want this to be a politics-free zone. That's the other question. I think a lot of people don't like it.
But then when you deal with, when you're thinking about Ed Sheeran, yeah, well, let's not get into that just yet. I hope you're all keeping well. And obviously, as we're on Insta Live and YouTube, you can get involved as we're going along. But if you're listening to us as the podcast, even better. We get great feedback from these shows. So it's really lovely. A couple of nice things. We're going to be live in the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, or as some newsreaders insist on saying, Dun Laoghaire. And that'll be happening. You know the way that some people love gear? I don't. It's like Bialtina. It's just Bialtina. But whatever you have in yourself. I mean, look, whatever gets you through on law. Now, with that in mind, we're going to be, like I say, in the Pavilion Theatre.
It's a lovely, it was the first one we did with the great Joseph O'Connor last year. And we're finishing off 2026 with a show there on Friday, the 11th of December at 8pm. It's sold out, which is so good. So thank you. Yeah, really, we're excited about that. And thank you, everybody, for getting a ticket. I don't know if we've announced who the guest is. I think we should announce it today to our friends who are watching, because why the hell not? So I can tell you that Paul, Paul is going to do the name. His name is Paul and he will be doing the Paul Howard is going to be doing the show for us. He was a guest on. Actually, John, I'm going to post is his bookshelf episode. One of my all time favorites. He got us crying.
I cheetah. He's such a lovely man. He has written a book. Now, this is fascinating because Paul, we haven't announced Paul yet. And even though the show's already sold out, so that's even better. But what's so nice about Paul is he's a gentle storyteller. Like I'm all, look at me, look at me, look at me. Whereas he's a lovely, gentle approach and he tells the story beautifully. And listen back to his bookshelf episode. It's really quite something. And his new book, A Nation Once Again, imagines a department in foreign affairs that's dedicated to preparing Ireland for United Ireland. He published the book last week, right? Who arrives into Ireland and says, United Ireland, great idea. Damn. DJT. I mean, Donald Trump has done Paul Howard the greatest favor.
I mean, in 2016, could you imagine Paul Howard sitting down with his missus at the table saying, what's going to happen is Donald Trump's going to get elected. I'm going to write a book about United Ireland. He's going to land in after getting elected a second time, having missed out a term to Joe Biden. And he's going to talk about United Ireland at a press conference. Anyway, the book is about that. I haven't read it yet. I've started it and I will be finishing it this weekend because not finishing. Sorry, I would go back to this weekend because I got stuck into John Boyne's amazing book, which I'll tell you about a little bit later on. But so, yeah, so Paul is going to be our guest on the eight o'clock show.
Now, there is going to be a matinee show. on the Friday, the 11th, in the pavilion. We haven't really advertised it very much. So if you want, if you're watching this or you're listening to this, the chances are you're a fan of the podcast and therefore you'll want to get in early. So get your tickets early. It's going to be a family show.
