And I was I was meant to be there at something like ten fifteen and at ten to eleven he said, and so polite, I presume you're on your way, you know, that sort of way. As in, where the hell are you? And I said, Oh my I I complete I just forgot. I forgot, forgot what day it was, forgot what what time what the whole thing is and of course my first thing in my head was, poor Max is a wrong.
No. Like what imagine imagine the arrogance of it. Well I'm talking about well that wasn't a leap. But anyway, the point was I said, What's the story? So I went uh I called him and I said, Max, he said, Yeah. I said, I have no excuse. I just sent straight up, I have no excuse, just I forgot. I I'd I forgot but but it was such a it's such a regular appointment. It'd be like forgetting to Brush your teeth or you know Yeah, go to work. Is that completely mad? But uh so we'll we'll fix it. I'll I'll do it tomorrow. But No, but he's very patient and Actually I was trying to think of something to give him as a gift to say sorry, you know, uh as I'm um have you got anything? Have you got But being there, your presence is presence enough?
Uh okay. I I'll think of something. Um something more than a coffee. I'll get something nice. Okay. Well, I hope you're all doing great and that you had f um your your complete f uh eyesight after last night's uh eclipse. Because I the the the eclipse passed me by in the build up to it. I don't know why, I just didn't realise it. Then on Instagram I started seeing this like i it's a wonderful life run on the bank for these little glasses. Apparently people in town in the city of Dublin were city of Dublin were uh like they were making a lot of money on these little things. Did did either you have you boys fellas uh buy the glasses or Tom Tom Tom got a pair and you didn't Aiden. Did you do the the coriander thing or whatever that is?
I met a man in the park, you didn't have to do that. You saw a man in the park who did that with the little Yeah. Oh because because I didn't do it. No, because you have because that's cause and you're not blind now, which is a a direct result. So I was kind of n not really engaged and then Claire, my wife, turned around and said, I I got a few pairs of these things on Amazon like just in advance because there's gonna be a mad rush. Very organized. Got them, great. Uh went outside. I posted this on Instagram, it's probably still there, tail end of it. I went out and I looked and said, There it is, little orange, bite it taken out of it. M Bonnie Tyler, not here to see it. How sad, even though sh like, imagine the royalty she would have made on that.
And uh so there it is and it's like, Okay, dinner and um It was very incurious of me, wasn't it? I mean scientist science Tom's going, it's an eclipse or partial eclipse or some I don't know what it was. It was something. I was like, it's ninety-seven percent. Bookbot loved it. It's ninety-seven percent of an eclipse. Um uh and then I weirdly was watching uh you did the same thing. I turned on Sky News, which was broadcasting live from Spain. Uh in where I was watching it. And the place went dark like they turned off the bulb. Whereas where we were it's like, the place has gone It's like it's like a cloud came over. So it was fun. Actually we went down to a local park to uh to see what the store it was like New Year's Eve.
There was a there was like a party Mardi Gras atmosphere. Loads of people were out nerding their way through the evening with the glasses. Wheel w actually this young lad came down to me and said, Are you a Toberty? I said, I am Uh and he said, uh he said, uh I used to watch in the toy show. I said, Good man, she said, how are you doing? Like how is it how's school?
