Okay, everyone. We are now well as in hours into night two of the Republican midterm convention, better known these days as Trumpapalooza. Miraculously, what a name. Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, as Chris just mentioned, is gonna join me in just a few minutes, and we have a lot to talk about. But the night is already off to, as I said, a great start. But the president counter programming his own convention in addition to going up against an NFL game by going on Fox and saying the midterms aren't really that important. Are you gonna campaign harder than you've ever campaigned in this month?
The hardest I ever campaigned because I had a win was the last I took four months No empty days, no empty hours. But isn't this just as important, Mr. President? I mean your whole
legacy is on the
line. It's never as important. Look, I'm campaigning for other people. The the when you say my legacy, I'll be a block. I'll end up being a blocker. I'll block all their bad stuff for two years. It won't be the same, but I'll be a blocker. What can I tell you? Uh and probably be able to make deals with them. You know, they're gonna want some stuff and we'll get you make deals. I mean it's one of those things. So it's not as uh dire.

And all those candidates he made to come to Dallas and pay to be part of this convention and stand with him, the president who has an approval rating in the thirties. Who cares if they win? Trump doesn't really seem to, frankly. Now, that interview, which they decided to do today, is really quite a warm-up message out of what is supposed to be tonight's marquee speech from Vice President J.D.
Vance. And I say supposed to be because even though J.D. Vance was billed as the headliner for tonight, Trump apparently could not resist making himself the star. So he plans to take the stage for a second night in a row. Right after the vice president. Because everyone, apparently two hours of crazy drivel last night was not enough. Now Donald Trump Jr. is warming things up right now, everyone. Goody. And just like last night, our very smart producers are going to be watching both JD Vance and Donald Trump tonight. And we're gonna let you know if they say anything remotely at all of interest. What I think is really interesting to watch about JD Vance's speech tonight is not what he is willing to say from that stage.
We've all heard his greatest hits before. But rather what JD Vance is refusing to say publicly. And I will drop over if he says tonight. Because just since last night, there have been two major news stories about the Trump administration's disastrous handling of the Iran War. Both happen to have anonymous sources who seem to be very close to the White House, as in, and I've been a part of pitching these types of stories, people who can talk in detail About private conversations with the president. It's usually a pretty small group, everyone. And those people are describing what a disaster Trump's war is. And one person in particular just happens to emerge as a central skeptic of Trump's war in both these stories.
Guess who it is? Trump's vice president, JD Vance. Okay, so the first report was in the Wall Street Journal, which broke new the news. that quote, top White House advisors have raised privately with President Trump the prospect that the Iran war could drag on through the remainder of his term, potentially extending the conflict past inauguration day in January of 2029, according to multiple U.S.
