Don't go banging your teammates. We're going to talk some NBA play-ins. See, banging is bumping uglies. Oh, I'm sorry. Is that bumping uglies? Yeah, we're on Terrestrial Fox Sports Radio nationwide.
Bumping uglies. They're stooping. Something like that. Some corny word? Make whoopee. Yeah, make whoopee like they said on Newlywed Game. That was a big... That was a big phrase back then, huh? Making whoopee? Making whoopee, dude. Big poppy trivia, like you said.
Chapter 4: How could a relationship between teammates affect team dynamics?
I have an annoying thing that I'm dealing with tonight that I'll explain coming up. But I do want to bring up a quick theory to start the show before we get into bumping uglies with your teammates. Covino and I both saw the same viral video. And I think it's just a great way to look at your week. Being that it is Monday, we hear on Fox Sports Radio some doofus on TikTok saying,
said, you know, I saw a way to look at your week, and I can't think of it differently now. It's a new analogy on life. How to win in life. Now, in the NBA, in the NHL, in Major League Baseball, Sam, a championship series is usually best of what? Seven. Yeah. And to win the series, what do you need? Four. Someone said you should look at each week of your life like a seven-game series.
You just got to win four days. Yeah, you're going to have a crappy day, like Mondays are sort of a drag-ass type of day. But, you know, Friday is sort of a gimme, right? Like Friday is likely going to be a win. If you win maybe a Monday, that's like winning one on the road. So you just got to have four good days a week, and you won the week.
Chapter 5: What drama exists in the WNBA that differs from other sports leagues?
My only issue with this, and it's a great way to look at it, right? It's not every day is going to be great. You're going to have an annoying fight with your wife. Your kids are going to annoy the hell out of you. Something's going to happen. Your boss is going to be a pain in the ass. It's easy to figure out which days... are the losses, right?
Like you said, bad news at work, the kids are hassling you, but how do you define a victory? Like Sunday, Monday, they might be L's, but Friday, Saturday are W's. So you got to be like, can I take two out of three from Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday? And if we win today, guys, we have fun and we close out this Monday strong. We won on the road. It's like winning game one on the road, yeah.
And that's the way you got to look at it. You got to approach every week like a seven-game series, and all you have to do is win four games, and you win in life because if you win four, every series you win, put it this way, every series you win in baseball. You have a greater chance of making the playoffs. Yeah. And that's what we're trying to do in life. You want to win in life? Win the week.
There you go. Week by week by week. Great way to look at it. It's just an interesting thought. So we'll get into the show. Kavino, Rich, let's do this. What consists of a win? Like, let's say nothing great happened, like squeezing some cheeks or something. Like, how do you define a win in life? To me, a win to me is like no mental breakdowns from the kiddos. Your team wins.
Like, maybe your team wins. And like, you know, you and your wife have some loving. Not even intimate. Like, you just had a really nice night. You watched a show you liked. A decent day. No call from, like, you know what a bad day was? Last week, I went for a dental cleaning, and they're like, well, it looks like it's probably best to put a crown on that back molar.

I'm like, yeah, but it doesn't bother me. They're like, oh, it's best to be preemptive. And I'm like, all right. Like, well, after your deductible and your insurance, like 800-something bucks, and next week I have to go to the dentist to get a crown. So you have to buy a crown? No, but that... Byer was loving golf all weekend long, man. Absolutely. Speaking of, hope you had a McElroy, Tyson Fury, maybe Ulberg, Costa, UFC 360, 327 weekend. It's funny you would say all those things because I agree.
Before we get into the meat of today's show, congrats to Rory McElroy and Dan Byron, all the golf fans who really enjoyed a nice, beautiful, nice long weekend of golf. Did anyone happen to watch the Tyson Fury middle of the afternoon fight on Netflix? I did. Because I did. I happened to get a text message from my father-in-law who was like, are you watching this?
I'm like, oh yeah, Dave, you're right. It's on. I turn it on. He fought Makhmudov. And the story was, if Fury won this fight, maybe they could finally seal that deal for that mega fight overseas between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. The guy he fought, Makhmudov? Yeah. That guy was the definition of... Of, like, a monstrous punching bag.
Like, that dude could take a punch, but he was just not going to hurt Tyson Fury. But, I mean, talk about the most beefy punching bag you've ever seen in your life. This guy had no head movement at all. He was a beast. Right. Easy to hit for a guy like Tyson Fury.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of choosing a player based on personal relationships?
So, after that fight, I did get a little excited, even though it's a fight that we all wanted like a decade ago. When Tyson Fury brings out the showman in himself... When he calls out Anthony Joshua ringside, he's like, you bloke, are you going to take my challenge? Yes or no? And then Anthony Joshua is sitting there all chill.
I thought it was a cool moment for boxing, and I hope they do work that out. Tyson Fury, by the way, I know they're past their prime, like you said. But if he conditioned a little better, he's only 37. And I know that's a little older, but not like ancient. He's never been a specimen like an Anthony Joshua, but Tyson Fury had a little extra back fat in that fight.
Every time he got hit, it was like... He's 37, Joshua's 36. And it got a little lippy at the end of the fight. A lot of fun, a lot of theatrics. The Gypsy King is back. They're trying to make that fight happen. So hope you had a McElroy, Tyson Fury, and both cool to watch. Like I said, UFC 327 was also exciting this weekend. Hope you enjoyed it. Hope you had that kind of weekend.

WNBA draft. And here's what I'm getting out of this. There's some drama for your mama tonight. Dallas Wings have the number one pick. Dallas Wings are a WNBA team. Right. What else could it be? Your favorite appetizer? I thought it was a restaurant. I heard Dan Beyer and you talk about Dallas Swings. I'm like, is it a new spot at the Galleria? It's a new flavor on the Buffalo Wild Wings.
Dallas Swings.
Smokey. They're going to be playing the Asian Zings later tonight. Oh, I love that, too. Another flavor at Buffalo Wild Wings. Blue cheese, please. Hey, Dan Beyer and Danny G, if I misstep while telling the story, please correct me, okay? But I'm also trying to explain, like, do I got this right? The Dallas Wings got the first pick tonight, and apparently they're going to take AZ Fudd.
Now, here's where the controversy gets a little sticky. AZ Fudd used to play at UConn. No relation to Elmer? I don't know. Elmer's kid? I'm not sure. But AZ Fudd used to play at UConn with Paige Beckers. And get this. If the Dallas Wings choose AZ Fudd to be on their team, she's now teammates with with the woman she's dating, superstar by the name of Paige Beckers.
So it becomes a sticky situation of, is that reason to pick AZ Fudd or reason to not pick AZ Fudd because of the whole Paige Beckers thing? Because, yeah, things are great now. Great, grand, wonderful. But what if... You know, it becomes a breakup of sorts. Dude, forget basketball. It's like going into business with your significant other. Can you be bumping uglies with your teammates?
Don't they say don't? What is the company, Inc.? Don't dip your pen. Well, there's no pen.
Yeah.
You know what I'm talking about. Don't, you know. Whoopie? Making whoopie, Sam? Yeah. You can't be making whoopie with your teammates.
It's very 1970s.
