We have breaking news out of Washington where we have learned that a convoy of individuals being led by Vice President J.D. Vance will not. be headed to Islamabad to participate in peace talks with Iran because those deals have fallen apart. And we will be discussing all of the aspects of that. The president has recently tweeted about this on Truth Social in part, and I'll revisit this throughout the hour, saying, I've therefore directed our military to continue the blockade and in all other respects to remain steady and able and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded one way or the other, Trump wrote today on Truth Social.
So we're going to be talking about that along with a number of other things. There are also new studies and statistics in regarding concerns around the president's mental acuity and stability. And so we're going to be digging into that because there are more Republicans and now up to 71 percent of Americans who have expressed, at least the ones that have been polled, some level of concern regarding the president's mental state. And so we will be talking about that and a lot more along with. The resignation today of a member from Congress, Sheila Scherfelis McCormick out of Florida, have been surrounded in controversy. In fact, there was talk around a vote for expulsion that was going to take place.

We've, again, got breaking news out of Washington. It was just announced a little bit less than a half hour ago that The convoy of individuals set to participate with peace talks in Iran that were headed to Islamabad by the vice president, J.D. Vance, is no longer going. Now, the news story began to break earlier today because that convoy was expected to take off. And it didn't. And then the trip was postponed. And people were wondering why. And there was all sorts of speculation. And then we later learned that, in fact, it was not happening. And so as it got postponed indefinitely, we were waiting for news.
And we got it. primarily in the form of a post on social media, surprise, surprise, from President Donald Trump. I'm going to read that whole post. I read a bit of it before we had it word from our sponsors. It says, based on the fact that the government of Iran is seriously fractured Not unexpectedly so. And upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif of Pakistan, we had been asked to hold our attack on the country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal. I therefore directed our military to continue the blockade and in all other respects remain independent. Ready and able and will therefore extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded one way or the other.
