We'll get to Dylan in a moment, but let me just set this up because as we are streaming tonight live, just a short time ago, Jimmy Kimmel broke his silence after his brief suspension from the airwaves, posting a picture to Instagram earlier today of a Hollywood figure who once described himself as being on President Nixon's enemies list.
And that's Mr. Norman Lear, if you know who that is. Norman Lear died, sadly, in 2023 at the age of 101. The late night host captioned the photo, which features his arm around Lear, quote, missing this guy today. And also, you know what I'm missing, too, is George Carlin and also some people with some backbone. Lear developed the now beloved sitcoms All in the Family, Good Times at Jefferson's, One Day at a Time, Forever. those of you who are old enough. His work was defined by being unafraid to tackle social issues, long considered taboo over six decades. Lear's work took up racism, sexism, women's liberation movement, anti-Semitism, abortion, homophobia, the Vietnam War, and class conflict. And then he worked through the Nixon administration using that for content for All in the Family.
I am joined later by Joy Reid, who's a veteran journalist and the host of The Joy Reid Show on YouTube. She's going to share her experience. insight on her extraordinary interview with the former Vice President Kamala Harris. But first up is Mr. Dylan Byers. Before we talk about Jimmy Kimmel, I mean, think about I think, well, you're closer to my age than my team, but you remember all of those sitcoms. I mean, we can't even do that on television anymore.

Yeah, no, I don't think so. I think it's increasingly becoming I mean, one of the ironies here is that it is actually a lot more you can tackle in the media space by virtue of, you know, whether you're talking about YouTube or Netflix or HBO and you can ever do on broadcast television anymore or even cable.
Yeah. So what happens? This is where so Jimmy Kimmel, as you know, you know what happened. I don't even have to run the sound, but I think most people have seen it. I didn't think he said anything that was fireable there. So my question is, they brought him back. I want to know from you, was it the pressure from people threatening to boycott and drop their, you know, get rid of their Hulu and that kind of thing?
