all right what do you guys think music or no music i wonder if it's too people call it boomer music i do it because it's sort of a throwback that's the whole point of it so music or not so should we do should we do the don lemon show music as a start andy you don't have that handy right i'm sure but um maybe we should play the music we haven't played the music in a long time we were going to play it the other day anyway i'm sitting here talking to myself as i always do Hi, everybody. Welcome. Like and thumbs up. You know the score. Hello, St. Louis STL. You know, I used to live in the St. Louis. Hello, Dallas. Never lived there. Never lived in Florida. Yeah. You like the music? Do you guys like the opening music?
It is a little... It's catchy, right? You love it? Is it tough to play again, Andy? You have to play it. If you do, you have to roll the open again, right? We don't want to do that.
Yeah, you got to see the whole open again. But people seem to like it.
People seem to like it. All right, good. So when Andy speaks, we all listen. Grab your mug, your coffee. Andy's like EF Hutton, for those of you who are old enough. Do you even know what that is, Andy? Not quite. Google it. Somebody Google it. Give me the YouTube. When EF Hutton talks, people listen. I don't know if you guys remember that. So grand rising. All right. So like and thumbs up. Thank you so much. So listen, I have something very serious and some people are going to probably think it's insulting. I don't so much. And wait till you see. I had a very interesting exchange with a couple of folks on the street. And not edited. I'm going to play it for you in full. And we'll talk about it. But we're asking why is MAGA so dumb?
Hey, as I said on Bill Maher's show, when I talked about MAGA being, many of the folks in MAGA being racist or whatever, and he said, that's insulting. And I said, the truth is often insulting. And I believe this to be the truth. So I want to ask you a question this morning that I've been wanting to ask out loud for a very long time. Why is MAGA so dumb? Now, I know that sounds harsh. And I want to be honest about what I mean, because I am talking about all of it. People are afraid to say that you can't insult people. Okay. Some people are going to think it's insulting, but let me explain that. I'm talking about the voters. I'm talking mainly about the commentators, but I am talking about the voters. I'm talking about the commentators.
I'm talking about the influencers. I'm talking about the politicians. The whole ecosystem. I'm talking about the whole thing. All the things I'm talking about. Does it equate to intelligence? I honestly don't know. Maybe you can answer that after we go through this. Does that equate to intelligence? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. What I do know is that it equates to facts or the absence of them. And Trump told you exactly why years ago. It was February of 2016. It was a Nevada primary victory rally. He won Nevada and he stood up there and he said it out loud. Roll it.
We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated.
Your president, everybody. I love the poorly educated. Now, you notice he had a lot more. Gump. He was a lot more animated then, a lot more energy. Wow, is he declining? Is it cognitive? What's going on there? Someone needs to write a book. Maybe someone needs to write a book. I don't know, what's up? Huh. So he stood there and he said, I love the poorly educated. He was not insulting them. So I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be so worried about insulting them because he's not insulting them, he was celebrating them. And then he went to work. Feeding them, here's the point, misinformation. Keeping them away from the facts. Building a closed loop where anything that contradicts the leader is automatically a lie.
Aha! So you got that? Anything that contradicts the leader is automatically a lie.
What is Don Lemon’s opening question about MAGA and facts?
That's the thing that they put in place. I think the way he does that is really smart. If you disagree with me, if you contradict anything, then you're fake.
