Why is AI considered the most disruptive technology for businesses today?

Dave Ramsey 0:05
AI is here, and it's already changing the way businesses operate. And most business owners I talk to fall into one of three camps. They're either excited about AI, afraid of AI, or they're wondering, what am I actually supposed to do with this thing? In this conversation from Entrez Leadership Summit, head coach John Falcons sits down with AI expert James Poulter and business owner Jay Owen to talk about how real businesses are using AI today. They break down exactly how it can help you move faster, think better, and get more done without having to be a tech expert. Because whether you like it or not, the people who learn how to use AI will have a serious advantage over those who don't. And when you hear what they have to say, it will start to feel a lot less scary and a lot more helpful.

Let's get to it.
John Falcons 1:00
Can we think of anything more disruptive right now than AI? It has just turned the world upside down in a lot of ways. And I talk to people that are Looking at it differently. Some people are looking at it and saying, ah, I don't want to fool with that. Some are looking at it like, I'm afraid of what it is. You know, I have a background in engineering, in construction engineering. And one of my friends used to say, if you give the hardest problem to the laziest person, you'll come up with the best solution. And I'm a little bit in that camp, right? I'm always looking for an app or some technology that can help me go a little faster or be a little sharper or whatever it is. And so I have been using AI for a couple of years now, but I really don't know what's going on underneath the hood.

And I'm excited to talk to these guys today and to hear from them. I can tell you for myself, one of the most powerful things that I have done is I have created a virtual board of advisors. So I've gone in, in the prompts, in the settings, a master prompt, and said, here's the six people whose opinion that I would like. Based on everything that they've ever published, I would like them to answer and also ask me questions about given scenarios and hear, so I can hear, their advice from what made them successful. So I put things like Dave Ramsey. I put people in the coaching industry that are leaders and have been successful there. For the heck of it, I put Elon Musk in there, Steve Jobs in there, Patrick Lencioni.
John Falcons 2:37
The people that you see up on this stage, I put in there. They've all published a lot. The stuff that's on the internet, it can give me good advice. And even better than advice, it can cause me to think. And that would be one encouragement. Don't use it just like a search engine that's got a personality. Ask it to ask you questions and cause you to think because the one thing that you don't want to do is outsource your critical thinking. There's a thing that we started calling, I didn't come up with this, called slop. You don't want to just take a response and send it to somebody without looking at it because then you're not thinking. I think that would probably make Arthur Brooks faint, don't you? He didn't want that for us.
John Falcons 3:19
So that's how a lot of different people are using it. And I know some of us are avoiding it. Some of us don't want to get into it. It seems weird. It seems like it's doing a lot of stuff that we don't understand. It seems like somebody that's got a really strong opinion and no credibility with this. And I totally get that. And we're all across that spectrum today. So let me hit just a couple things. I want to hit a very common question before we bring our experts out. The thing that I probably hear the most, our team probably hears the most is, is it gonna take my job? Is it gonna take our business out? And I want you to hear from a guy that's not an expert but is watching all of this, I don't think it's gonna take your job.
John Falcons 4:03
I don't think it's gonna take the people on your team's job. If. If they are willing to learn to use it. And if they are willing to change. somebody that is not willing to change, somebody that is not willing to adapt, they're gonna get outpaced by somebody that is.
