Does the Pope dress up? He he winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. You can I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when DePope gets up to wink on Halloween. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls. We've spent our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kids' brain, their group chats, and their friendships, and what you can do about it.
Your child is not doing this on purpose.
That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists and psychiatrists who study this for a living. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Self-care September is your reminder to slow down, check in with yourself, get off your phone, and maybe ask, why am I like this? I'm Gemma Speg, host of the Psychology of Your Twenties podcast, and this month we're helping you make sense of the person that you are becoming, from setting boundaries and navigating friendships to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment. Sometimes our biggest decisions. without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly want, but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone. Wow what's down baby? We are back with another one man. Yes sir. This is NFL opening day.
I ain't do nothing today but why football? That's it. I I went to church and football. That's what Sundays are for now.
It was bittersweet for me, man. Uh Man, I miss being out there. Today was a fumbling uh uh a fumbling c catastrophe. Oh my god. Uh a lot of turnovers, yeah. All security is
not that no more. Do you expect anything less week is week one?
Nah, nah, nah, nah. First of all, in training camp, juice, you know how this go. Protect the ball. Mm-hmm. We have to protect the ball. A lot of these losses, right? Was on margins of turnovers, fumbling. Draw interceptions, right? But before we get in that. What you miss about opening day?
Um, I think the thing I miss the most is just like being able to like put it all together like and it should count. Like pre season is cool, it's one thing, yeah, like football around the corner, training camp. But finally actually like to go out there and play and it matters against another opponent, you know. I ain't really ain't really nothing like it, bro. I used to I I used to get to the stadium early on days like this. J just for the first one. Get there early. Yeah, I like to get there early, like take it all in, sit in the stadium by myself, listen to a little music, you know, vibe. No. Um, because it's a long year, you know that, right? Right? It is, it is. Um, and then on opening night too. Like normally, like I have my whole family down, so like everybody be able to at least see me play at that point in time throughout the year.
