If you've listened to my show for years... In fact, it's the only rule I've ever had at the company that I own the volume. This is the only rule, first day I started the company to today. One rule. Get it right. Don't worry about being right. Don't fall in love with your ideas.
How has LeBron's approach changed over time?
Get it right. Well, soccer's always been done this way. Wrongly. FIFA got it right. The red card was atrocious to a player. Everybody knew it. And then they used a VAR review system inappropriately. The VAR is supposed to check the footage in normal speed. Slow-mo can be for offsides, but in intensity arguments, intensity debates, you're not supposed to use it. So soccer has checks and balances.
What makes Erling Haaland a standout player in the World Cup?
They have referees, then they have VAR, and then they have the FIFA disciplinary committee. The great advantage America had is there are days in between games. And we stood up and went, objection, your honor. You gave us a speeding ticket. We weren't speeding. And then you tried to confirm it using a camera instead of a radar gun. So you got the call wrong and the process wrong. Tradition and precedence can't trump accuracy. I've been on this for years. Be nimble, be flexible.
How does the current World Cup compare to past tournaments?
You've got to get it right. So the red card was an atrocious call.
