Welcome back to the I'm not sure this is going to be too great of a game. There's a lot of things going wrong for the Washington Commanders right now. Jaden Daniels, another elbow injury. Now everybody's second-guessing the decision not to have some kind of surgery to repair that. I'm not even sure if there is a surgery that would have helped this situation. People are blaming Dan Quinn. I don't know about that. What do you think about that situation, Mitchell? Obviously, I have the Seahawks in control of this game for a number of reasons that we're going to go down. But I think that Jake and Daniel situation is the news of the day.
It is the news of the day. And you got to look at it. It looked like an absolute freak injury, right? He trips over the guard, goes to stabilize himself and hurts himself. I don't want to critique somebody's body type, but there was concerns about Jaden Daniels coming out of college because he's skinny. Could adding more muscle have helped him? I don't know, but here we are, year two of this same injury, and now the commanders turn to Marcus Mariota and face the absolute red-hot Seattle Seahawks. Richard, this team has won 12 in a row. They broke down. The longest win streak in franchise history last week, breaking the 2005 Seattle Seahawks record led by Matt Hasselbeck and Sean Alexander. Credit to this team.
They're starting to stack wins. And Richard, I don't see anyone stopping them anytime soon. This Commander's team, good luck on Sunday. I think it's going to be a long one. I think Drew Locke has had plenty of time to prepare for this game. He's settled in as a starter. And I'm looking forward to this dark side defense getting after Marcus Mariota. Richard, what do you expect to see on Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Washington Commanders?
Well, I think since Mike McDonald has taken over, the Seahawks are, I think, 16-2 on the road. 16-2, so... For some reason, I'm not going to speak anything jinxing into existence, but I expect them to bring their defense and their run game. I expect them to try to get the run game going. They haven't had as much success as they've wanted, so I'm sure they're going to try to lean on that. Obviously, the offensive player of the year, Jackson Smith and Jigba, is going to be a factor in this game again. I expect them to try to get Rashid Shahid involved. Like, this is a perfect game. Not a great secondary that you're going against. Not a great pass rush. So try to get him the ball. Try to find the rhythm there.
Defensively, I expect them to put a lot of pressure on Marcus Mariota. I don't see... Mike McDonald taking anything for granted. He never takes anything for granted. I'm sure he's preparing for the Washington Commanders just like he prepared for the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Mike McDonald is one of the most detailed, attention to detail coaches in the National Football League. So I expect that to be a really fun game for this defense.
How will the Seattle Seahawks' defense impact the game against the Washington Commanders?
They're number one in pass defense right now. giving up only 136 yards per game. Their second in scoring defense, second in total defense, only have given up eight and a half points per game. So that's been fantastic. And they're taking the ball away. They're third in the league in takeaways, four interceptions. Julian Love, all pro Julian Love. I want you guys to say it with me. I know everybody. It's like, man, but I don't want to hear it. Julian Love, right now, is playing the best at the safety position in the National Football League.
