Have you ever felt a a feeling of a void or a almost a pit, like a hole of anxiety anywhere in your gut, your chest, or around your torso? Uh for a lot of people, that's where they feel anxiety, that's where they feel dread, that's where they feel a deep feeling of being unsettled. And the hypnosis that you're about to listen to was for

A client that really felt that way. They felt that in the past they had allowed people to get too close that then let them down. And because of that, they were having a protective part. That horrible sensation was trying to protect them from being emotionally hurt. And what you're going to hear is a form of somatic release. Somatic is just when you feel emotions in your body. Body, as well as harnessing a resourceful state and then future pacing that into the environment where they would want it. And this client had a form of social anxiety. It was the anxiety around people and feeling confident and open around people. And I could really resonate with this because part of the reason why I'm a therapist is that I had severe social anxiety as a teenager.

future and I was a recluse for almost a year because the somatic sensations, the anxiety felt so unpleasant, I would use avoidance as a way of dealing with that. Now, the problem with avoidance is that it isn't giving you the evidence to show that you can be resourceful in that situation because you constantly avoid the opportunity to disprove it. So getting in a resourceful state is crucial. I did it the long way. I had to read lots of books and do lots of stuff for myself. This is about going back to a time where the client, or if you're listening to this, you were feeling very confident, very Resourceful in a social situation, harnessing that state and then imagining what it would be like to feel that way in the present and the future and being more social.

So if you have social anxiety or you feel like it would be helpful to be more confident in social situations, or you just don't want to have that horrible feeling of anxiety in your chest or your gut, this session may be useful for you. Be aware, of course, that it was created. for a specific client, some of the suggestions would have been right for them and not quite right for you. So disregard any suggestions that aren't quite right. Hone into the ones that are. And if you like the idea of working with me directly, I would encourage you to look for the link in the show notes or my website, adamcox.co.uk. There you can get a consultation call, a discounted consultation call because you listen to the podcast.

And then we can have a chat about working together. Um but you might find that this session, even though it was recorded, recorded for someone else might be beneficial for you. And the way to get the most out of this session isn't going to be to just listen to it randomly. It's going to be a bit intentional. So try and find a particular place now if you can where you're not going to be disturbed or distracted, where you feel comfortable. Ideally the kind of place where you can deeply relax without falling asleep and relax and see if you can get something valuable. out of their session.
Adam Cox 4:45
