So, get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
Adam Cox 1:06
Hi, Adam here, and you're about to listen to a weight loss hypnosis session that is particularly focused on emotional eating and also portion control.

What is the “control room of the mind” metaphor and how does it relate to hunger and energy?

Adam Cox 1:18
And one of the key things here that I like about this session is that the client I worked with had already lost quite a bit of weight on an earlier hypnosis session that I did, but their circumstances had changed and it was Such that they had more on their plate, they had more overwhelming things to deal with. And I think a lot of people are fine making great choices and losing weight when conditions are good. But when conditions can become a bit stressful or unusual, that's when people typically retreat back to old coping strategies. This uses the control room of the mind. It's a metaphor. four where you have internal dials and gauges and you adjust those and this is really focused on hunger, on energy levels.
Adam Cox 2:07
So that that intuitive feeling that a lot of people have that, oh, I'm tired, I better eat, actually is updated to a more effective strategy.

How does the future‑pacing technique help visualize losing 7, 14 and 21 lbs?

Adam Cox 2:16
It also ends with three levels of future pacing. And the three levels of future pacing are a mirror where they see themselves having lost seven pounds and they get to experience what that would be like. And then when they lose 14 pounds. And then when they lose 21 pounds, and the seven-pound increment makes it feel manageable but also aspirational. And because the suggestion is that it is losing seven pounds from their current weight, then it doesn't matter what weight they are, it's always going to be a useful suggestion. So if you feel that you emotionally eat, if you feel that your circumstances are such, Such that when you're stressed or overwhelmed, you tend to eat more. Or if you eat when you're low on energy, even if you're not actually hungry, you might get some real value from this session.
Adam Cox 3:08
Now, it was created for an individual, and as such, some of the suggestions are going to be relevant to them and they may not be relevant to you. So just disregard any suggestions that aren't quite right for you and hone into the ones that are.

What breathing and relaxation steps are used to deepen the trance?

Adam Cox 3:22
And if you like the idea of working with me. Directly rather than listening to a recording that I created for someone else, I would encourage you to click the link in the show notes or visit my website, adamcox.co.uk, and there you can book a consultation call to explore working with me directly so you get a bespoke session just for you and your specific circumstances. For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you're not going to be distracted or disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
Adam Cox 4:14
Take A deep breath in. And as you breathe in. Breathe in that long, slow, relaxing breath. And as you exhale. If you need to position your body in such a way where relaxation is easier, That's it, do that now. And notice with your eyes closed. How much easier it becomes. To focus. On the sound. Of my voice. Breathing in relaxation. And releasing tension. There in the outward breath. That's it. Notice the rhythm of your breathing. And scan your body to look for clues. of any overwhelm, of any stress. Of any tension, of any Niggling feelings. And just allow yourself. To become the release valve. When people hold on to emotions. The emotions create sensations in the body. And sometimes food or drink becomes appealing.
