Welcome to Jags HQ, presented by Fresh from Florida. JP Shadrick and former Jaguar Jeff Logerman sit down each week with the decision makers of your Jacksonville Jaguars. We're gonna bring you a product that you all can be proud of. With that, game on. Jags HQ, presented by Fresh from Florida, starts right now.
Welcome in. It is Jags HQ presented by Fresh From Florida. We're at the Hyundai Studios at the Miller Electric Center on the Jaguars Radio Network for the first time in the 2026 season. JP Shadrick, Jeff Logaman. James Gladstone, General Manager, and EVP Tony Boselli live in studio with us on this Thursday afternoon. And good afternoon, James. How are
you? What's up? Life is good. Jack to be uh two days in with guys on the grass and obviously still uh in a very similar setting that we saw over the course of the spring with only helmets on, but you know, both sides of the ball, guys guys showing up, guys making plays, a good back and forth up to this point, and uh Jack to see what lies in front.
Love it, Tony.
Finally back out there. Yeah, it it it's been great. I think everyone's uh had a great off season and I think the you know, most importantly, you know, from the time you leave A great off season. You have this five week period, you're like, Whew Let's just make sure everyone comes back healthy, ready to go. Um, because they're on their own and y you hope you have the right type of individuals. that it's important to them. Because They can do whatever they want. They could go sit on the couch and eat Doritos for the whole time and they could Why'd you look at me when you said that? Well, I mean that's that's not looking at the group, you're the one person. Um but uh and so uh for me it's and being a haven having been a player and knowing what that looks like.
Like you have this five week period of what are you gonna do with your time? Are you a pro can you come back? In better shape than when you left, ready to go. Achieve what you're trying to achieve and And I would say to a man to watch these guys and what they did and how they came back in the first two days of of uh not real football but preparing to go play real football and what they have done on the field. It's it's just It makes you happy 'cause you just don't know.
Um little bit more of a sense of urgency, you know, now compared to the the OTA stuff.
You know, there's more competitive yeah, okay. There is, but the the thing that's been really cool, there's been an emphasis on being sharp, right? Being smart in the way we're practicing. And you know, for the last year and a half, right, establishing both this mental and physical toughness. I think that's easy to show itself more so on the physical side because it's such a violent and physical game. Right now there's such intent especially without pads on, for it to be sharp and mentally tough in that regard, discipline in our actions and you know, the penalty counts being very low, uh the style of play being very clean, professional. It's just come off as a really cool operation through a couple of days.
So uh getting back to the Cheetos on the Couch story and Doritos on the Couch story. So did you guys see during your break, did you guys uh sit on the couch and eat Doritos? What'd you guys do? I would say this. Um I I
did not
you you got something to share about your left shoulder.
I didn't do what the players did. I enjoyed myself.
I know. I did I
did do a lot of working out. I mean in the the workouts we did was uh pretty light. Um so
Oh man, we we did some workouts though. We tried we tried to meet the standards for that of, you know, the reserves in the Navy.
So James Leam and I went on a little vacation and uh we were with some other people and uh we we had a little competition because one of them was a Navy reservist and he had to go back and do his navy test, physical test. It was a combination of push-ups, plank, and a run.
Okay.
Well we didn't we were in a place we could not run and so we did the uh push ups and planks. Um I passed. You
did a push up? Yeah.
Wow. Oh yeah.
