Are they a time for some of the world's best athletes to compete in the sports that they've been training so hard at? Or are they a time for people to get nasty? The Olympics or the O-O-Olympics. There's a lot of sex stuff going on out there. And honestly, I'm not surprised. I'm joined by media personality, Caitlin Green. You can hear her on the Jan Arden podcast. And it's because of the condoms that they give out in the Olympic Village. And it's a lot of, think about it this way, very young, very fit people who are, you know, potentially wearing some version of a unitard or less.
And I think that it kind of makes sense that they would all be like hooking up in their dorms. You can't say unitard on the radio. Look, think about it. It's young people, beautiful people, people at top peak physical fitness. They got all, you know, and they work so hard all year. Finally, they're done their sport and they're just in a village with other like-minded people whose singular focus in life is their sport. All of a sudden, they've got the free time. All of a sudden, the event that they've been training for for four years is over. What do you think they're going to do in the Olympic Village? Yeah, this happens all the time and it's happening right now in Milan. And the organizing committee had to release a statement saying that condom supplies in the Olympic Village were temporarily depleted due to higher than anticipated demand.
And they said they would be constantly replenished until the end of the games. So for context, during the opening ceremony, they distributed 10,000 condoms and the athletes had used them all that first weekend. They use them in five minutes. It's funny that they know that there's a high demand and yet still they exceeded that high demand, exceeds expectations. It's so funny to me that the Olympic Village is just like a wild party after it. But if you're sports on the last day, that must suck for you because I feel like they don't party until they're done their event. Yeah, I think that's probably true. And also like, then there are always the athletes who like would avoid sexual activity before a competition or some people who would want to have sexual activity before a competition.
Like people, some athletes have talked openly about feeling like it actually affects their outcome and their performance. Oh boy. So, but I also wanted to note that I think this has something to do with the rabid hunt for merch amongst young people because the condoms were wrapped with the Milan Cortina Olympic logo. So I actually think that if 10,000 condoms were quote unquote used, that 5,000 of those would have been kept just as a souvenir. So they should have just branded them with whatever condom brand. They shouldn't have passed out Olympic condoms because people, yeah, of course you want to take that home. Of course. Of course you're taking an Olympic condom home with you. And they were the five colors of the five loops of the Olympic logo.
But this isn't the only sex thing going on at the Olympics. There's a German bobsledder who gave credit to an unlikely source to fund her Olympic run. Walk me through this one. Yeah, she's a German bobsledder named Lisa Buckwitz, and she ranked sixth after two runs recently in her competition. And she said that she has spent at least $60,000 per bobsled season on equipment, training camp, and travel. And so after she won the women's bobsled in 2018, she posed on the cover of Germany's version of Playboy magazine. And she decided, oh, there's obviously a lot of interest in me, and I'm going to need to fund my bobsledding dreams, so I'm going to get an OnlyFans award. So she went out, got an OnlyFans.
It has been wildly successful. I'm sure she's garnered a lot more followers since her run during the Milan Olympics.
