Why is self-care considered essential for a healthy life?
Why do you think so many people don't make the time to relax?
I want to tell the world that self-care, it should be part of life. It should be part of routine. It's like car. You need oxygen. You need car cream. You need to make your car to run longer. Our body is exactly the same.
Nita Gutierre is a grounded community-focused and compassionate entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Sabai Thai Spa. Leveraging her deep cultural heritage, she helps individuals and franchise partners embrace authentic Thai self-care, creating a lasting legacy of holistic healing, mindful leadership, and meaningful connection.
Michael, if I can convince you to do the self-care, to be part of the routine, I believe you're going to live longer. And that's my way to give back, that helping people to be better version of themselves, think more clearly, more healthy, become a better wife, become a better husband, because the mood are better, there will be more smile. calm more kindness you can offer this space for people in your own community that people can look good feel good and be better version of themselves everywhere and i already gone to with 20 years start my own business from nothing literally nothing i mean nothing is nothing i can tell you about that story if you want to hear it

I am Ray Gutierrez. Joining me today is a founder of something that everyone needs, and it's only spelled with three letters, S-P-A, a spa, Ms. Gutierrez. I have to stop because when you said your last name, it's my last name, Gutierrez. And your husband's last name is Gutierrez. So Gutierre.
Gutierre.
Sorry. What is your full name again, my love?
Nita Gutierre.
Nita Gutierre. Beautiful. Can you tell us who you are, what you do and why you're here?
I'm the founder of Sabai Thai Spa and CEO, and I'm here today to share my story.
So you and I are about to film your episode. What are we going to learn about you today?
Oh, a lot. Hopefully we have a full day together.
So let's talk about a full day together, but not with me, but just with you. What happens at a full day spa with you at your establishment?
Let me bring you back. When I started my first business in Canada 20 years ago, I'm from the wellness already, working spa for many years. Move to Canada, you know, to build new life, find love, get married. Sure. Move to the city and want to start the business, right? I went to work in different spa. But what I found out is missing. missing the warmth, the culture, the journey, the experience. And I would like to bring the little piece of Thailand to the community where I work in Vancouver. I said, I want to build a spa that offers the warmth, that you feel like you're coming home, Like visit family and friends, the high hospitality, good quality service. And then the first step that you're coming in, I want to feel like a journey.
I want to transport you to Thailand without getting on airplane. I think, okay, the first step, they just transport to Thailand. After that, okay, we need to get five senses to take care of the sight, the sound, the touch. the taste and the
The frequency, the smell, yeah.
Yeah, the smell and everything. And I said, okay, I have my own. We have custom music. We build it up for ourselves. I want the music to bring them in somewhere else. As soon as you step in, the music just brings you down.
Sure.
The calm, the flow with the music, it follows with the heartbeat. We're flowing in. flowing out. And then there's a Thai instrument in it because you've been to Thai spa, you have that.
How did the founder start Sabai Thai Spa with limited resources?
And the smell of the Thai herb, the lemongrass that just hit right in your senses and then just bring you down. Even before you start the treatment, you already feel calm and relaxed.
