Emma Vigeland 1:56
She could at least whip her caucus. He's also incompetent too.
Sam Seder 2:00

It is Pump Day. Oh yeah, it is. Uh says Emma Vigland. I g I I lost track of what day it was.
Emma Vigeland 3:16
Me too, almost, but I I c couldn't forget. Just getting
Sam Seder 3:20
back into the swing of things, uh the uh school year starting. My s my my uh son's still not in school yet. Oh, they don't start. New York they don't start until after Labor Day and Labor Day's late and so Uh, be that as it may, we got a lot to uh talk about uh today. Um Uh We will get more into that, Hakeem Jeffries. I mean it's uh well I Maybe worth uh just uh mentioning up top. There are um and according to Nancy Pelosi, this is uh somewhat unprecedented where members of your caucus defect not to vote for uh legislation uh that uh maybe most Democrats won't vote for. That is that happens. Um You'll find a couple of But two Democrats, Jared Golden and Marie uh Hugels Camp Perez. Exactly. Um voted for a rules change which uh i with the Republicans so that they could bring up a whole host of legislation, um one of which was the condemnation of uh socialism.
Emma Vigeland 4:43
So they allowed these two Democrats to have hours of debate attacking the left on the House floor via this, you know bill about socialism.
Sam Seder 4:53
Uh the ostensibly uh golden and uh I can't remember. I can't say that.
Emma Vigeland 5:01
MG uh P
Sam Seder 5:03
MG P uh said that um they were interested in a a bill that was um protecting uh supposedly uh protecting lobstermen uh on both coasts. Um from protections of Uh uh Wales. And uh to uh push back this protection of whales on behalf of lobstermen, I I can only imagine what Jared Golden uh received. Uh You know In
Emma Vigeland 5:36
exchange for that?
Sam Seder 5:37
Yes.
Emma Vigeland 5:38
Um i well we will talk about this more. It's an important story because it shows that Jeffries is not only ideologically out of step with the base, but he's incompetent at doing the basic nuts and bolts of his job, which is keeping the caucus together.
Sam Seder 5:52
Uh yeah. Um and uh he uh when asked about it he said you should ask Catherine who is the uh whip.
Emma Vigeland 6:01
Blaming blaming his number two. Um this is what quarterbacks sound like when they are about to get benched. Blaming the offensive line or the protection or the receiver or the rest of the team. Like it's quite literally not your job to do that as a leader.
