And Hoda's like, I'm just dispensing joy, and it's a Hoda joy ride. And Savannah's like, yeah, well, typically at this hour, joy is in short supply. And the thing that really struck me here is that Savannah was so clearly strong-armed into doing this. She told her bosses at NBC, I'm off the clock as soon as I'm done with today. I'm not giving Hoda any of my free time.
On the clock, on my paycheck, on my time. She can get in the car. What is happening, Rob? You're so right.
I've never thought about that. She's literally like, well, I've got to get to work and I've got to get in the car. So I'll just get it over with while I'm in the car. And I've got to sort of do this. And they've sort of set themselves up for this by always insisting that they're just such a happy family. Yeah. Yes. They were the first family of television. They had this problem with Megyn Kelly.
Remember when Megyn was on the Today Show and they were all one big happy family? And then suddenly the families just stopped speaking, no explanation. And so the same with Matt Lauer. When Matt was on the show, he was just the leader of this family. And then the minute there was a smell, they ran away.
Not to compare at all what Matt Lauer was accused of. Megyn Kelly, they were just looking for a reason to cut her loose.
Exactly, exactly. I hate to conflate them. So I think here this is the problem, that they've always set up that Hoda, while she was on that show, was just this family member. Right. Wacky aunt. Oh, she's so funny. She's Egyptian. We just love her. But then... I forgot the Egyptian part. You're so right. You're so right. It's so cool. We're just down with everybody here. We love everybody.

We should point out too, I think maybe just legally, she has taken to Instagram and she seems to be enjoying this.
And she didn't say it's not true. She called the whole story ridiculous while posting a photograph. of the story which claims that he's living with her. She's an up-and-coming singer. I spoke to some friends of hers, people that know her from Nashville. She has worked with Keith, and she has an album out, and she seems to be secretly enjoying all this publicity, all this attention, and so...
She hasn't quite said no yet. I think she took to social media to make the story have another day, and she did that. I'm not sure anybody bought her albums, but this is an amazing story. It's amazing reporting. I've read it 10 times. I'm really frustrated because within hours of this story breaking, I'd got a story that was in schedule to break.

They will not meet her. The daughters are team. Nicole here, we've seen them pop up with her at different fashion events. Keeps the dog. Keeps the bad boy. I'm told...
I broke it on your show when they first broke up. I'm told there's been multiple ladies. Oh, I'm sure. I'm not quite sure why they haven't come out yet. Maybe somebody's been paid. That's normally the case here. But they will come out here. And the fact that the daughters have dumped their dad, and we know this because of the custody agreement, she gets 90% of the time.

Chapter 6: What is the significance of the support from Hollywood for Busfield?
I will not spoil this for you, by the way, if you're watching this, Pilot Gal stays off cam. We just see her hands. the pull, her interpretation of the cards as they are laid out. And sometimes we hear the ambient noise of her dogs. And since she's a dog person, I already love her. Here we go.
If you watch The Nerf with Maureen Callahan, you know that since, I think it was like October or November of last year, she put the word out, where is Stedman? We never see him with Oprah. It's always Oprah and Gayle. And apparently, the nerve actually sent Stedman an email to ask him, hey, are you okay? What's going on? Why don't we see you anymore? Crickets. Dead silence. No response.
So, Maureen Callahan's opinion, in her opinion, allegedly, she thinks he's not alive anymore. He's on the property, somewhere on Oprah's property, you know. she might be tongue in cheek on this, but sometimes I think she's serious. So it's been a big running motif in her show. Where's Stedman? So I thought, let's do a fun reading. Let's find out where Stedman what's going on. Is he alive?
What in the world? And what's the relationship between Gail and Oprah?
Okay. This is inspired. I love this. Okay. Now, um, Also, Pilot Gal, I believe the email, the original email we sent, I mean, Marlena would have to fact check it for me, but I believe we asked point blank, are you still alive? Nothing. Nothing. Okay. So here is the first card poll asking if Stedman is alive and wait till you see the cards that Pilot Gal pulls. Here we go.
Is Stedman alive? Four of wands in reverse. Oh, my God, that's a funeral. A funeral, a divorce, an unstable home. Holy crap.
You know what? I love that multi-tiered interpretation. First, she says it's a death. Then she says it could be a divorce. Then she says it could be an unstable home. I think it's all three in reverse. An unstable home, a divorce. I mean, they may not have ever been legally married, Oprah and Stedman, but they've been together long enough. Common law would, I think, prevail. And a death. A death.
It could be metaphorical. It could be literal. And again, I just want to say something. Oprah's been out on this media tour as Marlena and I were discussing on the mini. This entire week, Marlena went to the 92nd Street Y where Oprah, in the middle of talking to Gayle, her smartphone, she has an Apple Watch, I think, it vibrates. And she goes, oh my goodness, I'm getting an incoming call.
And Gayle conveniently says, well, whoever could it be? And Oprah goes... Stedman and then just hangs up instead of going, let's hear from Stedman or instead of Stedman actually sitting front row or being backstage, some kind of proof of life as discussed. The guy does not have a real job. He's a quote unquote motivational speaker.
