Um, one of the most anticipated jet seasons in uh recent history. And um, I can't wait to see what this team looks like on opening day. So, why do you say that? One of the most anticipated jet seasons in recent history. Because I feel like the people outside of this building had one expectation, but then when they saw this. Team playing preseason, I thought that maybe they had to go back and reevaluate what they think this team is capable of and where they think they are in their program building.
Okay, big picture. What's different about the Jets heading into a year two under Aaron Glon?
Well, they look like a professional football team. And you s and you say, Well, what do you mean, Bart look like a professional football team? When you look at them come off the bus, they look like a professional physical football team. Right. And you look at the fact that they beefed up the offensive line, which the offensive line I think was a strength. And I think, you know, they got criticized a little bit too much, you know, for the um quarterback holding on to the ball a lot last year. But we know Memboo's the tone setter, this team, you know, essentially brings back the exact same offensive line that was able to get cohesion and chemistry last year and they can take the next step. You know, we all understand what they've done, you know, with Brees Hall.
And, you know, we wanted to see and hope that, you know, what I and I Mitchell um looked like, you know, with a full um training camp in a in a in a system, Frank Wright, you know, what he brings as far as his football acumen. But when you look at it on the defensive side, right, the tone needed to be set on the defensive side of the ball. And they went out and you got some some pros pros. Yeah. Right. You talk about, you know, Amada who who ranked in the top 11, you know, as far as run stopping, right? You you talk about Sweat, who was, you know, number 11 as far as you know run stopping, right? Then we already know about Phillips. And then you bring in Demario Davis, the thumper, and which allows Sherwood to run around.
So when you talk about when I when I say they look like a football team, they look like a physical football team, where last year I thought they got pushed around a little bit in the trenches. I don't anticipate that anymore. And I think they did a great job. And I haven't even brought in bricks who I like to call big little short stubby dudes. They got wiggle. I like to call them big wiggle. So they look better.

I wrote this the other day that the Jets followed their offseason plan to a T. Darren Muji told me at the combine that, hey, listen, we're gonna get some veterans in here, some seasoned players who are gonna help from a leadership perspective.
