O'Connell runs the offense, calls the plays, does everything in Minnesota, and was pretty – was pretty good at what he was doing there too, Bob. So I think that's what it was. And I think McCarthy was looking for that type of a guy that could supplement what he does rather than a guy that has not been there and not done that yet.
He had, like I said last year, he did pretty well with Tyler Shuck, right, in up-and-comer.

But how much was Kellen Moore had to do with that, too? So he could play that game, too. I think what McCarthy was looking for was what he's getting, and Angelico is a guy that can supplement what he does. So I think when you hear a head coach say, I call the plays, and he didn't hesitate saying that, that's been the way he's done things. I think the one year he relinquished that, he said, I'll never relinquish that again. I'm calling my own plays. How much does that affect potential offensive coordinators in waiting, people who want to get the job but they know they're not going to call the play? Well, I'll tell you one thing. It should help them out because play calling is not simple. You have to be very quick at it.
He's experienced that too. That's what I'm saying. But those guys want experience of doing it, don't they? Yeah, but you can get experience by watching for a year or two. I mean, you really think a guy like Scott Tolzien's ultimate job is to be a quarterback's coach or a play caller? No, he wants to be his own offensive coordinator as well. But you have to take it by steps, I do believe.
