It's another weekend, yes, right around Australia on this Saturday morning for June the 18th for 2022. Coming up in just a moment, we're talking with Alice Stoltz. It's the second half of the interview we did on Thursday.
If you missed it, Alice, who is the managing editor at Domain, wrote an opinion piece regarding the rate rises and how to look more on the brighter side. So she has some more of her insightful comments coming up. But next, we are talking about a trip to the Hunter Valley that we are giving away. It's all rather exciting.
And as always, if you're looking at property either today or tomorrow, get out there and
Chapter 2: How many prizes are available for the Hunter Valley trip?
enjoy your day.
Enjoy your morning coffee. Wake up every morning to the Real Estate Podcast.
Well, as you've heard me talking, we've got this fantastic getaway weekend. Well, you can go on the weekend, you can go during the week, you can go whenever you want.
Chapter 3: What accommodations are included in the Hunter Valley prize?
The main thing is you've got to win it first. So let's go to Katie Lee. She's working in the marketing department for the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association. Very good morning to you there, Katie. How are you doing?
Chapter 4: What activities can winners enjoy in the Hunter Valley?
Oh, good morning, Craig. I'm doing fantastic. Thanks for asking.
Now, you're in a very enviable position there. Lovely spot. How many prizes exactly have you come up with? You've come up with a few, eh?
Oh, we've got double figures of prizes here, Craig, and we've got more than 10. So we're really excited to bring this to a lucky winner who listens to the podcast.
Wow, over 10.
Chapter 5: How do rising interest rates affect the real estate market?
Now, we can let out one of those prizes in terms of it's two nights that they're staying there, right? So tell us a little bit about where they'll be staying.
Yeah, look, Makua Resort at Hunter Valley Gardens, an absolutely fantastic place to stay in the heart of the Hunter Valley, right in the middle of Picolbin. It's two nights accommodation and breakfast is included. You're staying at this beautiful resort. You've got breakfast included. And, you know, at the heart of the Hunter Valley, you can just walk right over to the Hunter Valley Gardens.
You've got access to restaurants and shops everywhere. cafes the gardens which are amazing and lots to do you can access everything you need to from this one spot or drive yourself and go a little bit further and explore the rest of the valley it honestly is a fantastic place to stay and it's four and a half star accommodation
You mentioned that there's over 10 of these prizes.
Chapter 6: What strategies can buyers use in a falling market?
Probably the best way maybe to do this is we could maybe mention one of these prizes every day because we're going to be running this over the next two weeks, 14 days.
Oh, absolutely. You don't want to give it away all up front. I would rather, you know, speak to one of these every single day and let the listeners know exactly what they're going to be winning and really talk about the magnificent prizes that are on offer here. Every single prize included is a fantastic experience in the
Me too. I can't. So that's two of us out. And probably not a bad idea to get you back every morning. You could just be letting the audience know what is in the prize package, perhaps.
Chapter 7: What financial advice is crucial during economic uncertainty?
Oh, look, I'd love to join you every morning, Craig, and to talk about all these prize components. The Hunter Valley, I love it. I live and breathe it. And I'm really excited to be talking about the amazing things we have on offer here. One lucky winner is going to have an amazing getaway in the Hunter Valley.
You know, most people, when they go away, they'll do one or two things. This is probably quite unusual. And if people have been to the Hunter Valley before, if they win this, this will be an experience unlike anything else they've done.
It truly will be. You cannot experience the Hunter Valley in one weekend.
Chapter 8: What long-term perspective should we have on property investment?
There is so much to see and do here. This prize is all encompassing of everything the Hunter Valley is. We've got something for everyone in here. There's an experience for every different type of traveler to enjoy. So I guarantee if you win this, you will have the time of your life. And there's so much to do that you probably have to come back.
That's a point. All right. Well, look, thank you this morning for telling us a little bit about a little bit of the tease about this competition. And we will be talking again on Monday morning.
Yeah, look, thanks for having me this morning, Craig. Really great to chat to you.
And I look forward to talking to you on Monday morning.
Well, it's time for the second half of the interview that we did with Alice Stoltz from Domain. And we were talking about the rises in interest rates. And I said to Alice, we really have to keep everything in perspective because what goes up will eventually come down.
Look, that's exactly right. And I think people who have seen all the peaks and troughs of the market sort of wisely sit back at this time and just say, look, everything's going to be okay, kids. But I think it can feel quite scary. But you have to remember that at the top of the market, things can feel quite scary in the way that prices rise so quickly.
And if you're a buyer trying to get into that market, it's absolutely scary. At the moment, we're saying, oh, these poor owners are feeling scared because we're at what may be going towards the bottom of the market. So, I just think we're in a downturn phase.
It will then stabilise and then it will eventually start to rise again and then we'll have another peak and we'll have the same script that we've had from the past few years will be repeated over and over again. So, I mean, a lot of people really love buying during a falling market. Some people will only buy during that sort of market. So,
It can feel scary, but I just think we have to sort of step back a little bit and look at the greater picture here of what is actually happening.
