All right, we are back here on the Rigger NFL show with my friend Austin Gale. Austin, I noticed I didn't I didn't prep you for this, but I noticed that we are on very different schedules because as we were texting about the pod and what we're gonna talk about, your text came in at five eleven AM my time, and I responded like an hour later. You live on the West Coast, I live on the East Coast. I just feel like we're living very different lives.
Yeah, the preseason sync has kind of caught me uh some sleepless nights here having to rewatch tape. Uh I also do that like kind of like millennial thing where when you have my text attention, I might send you like four texts in a row on the same subject and like half of them might be L O L. So I kind of bombard you with notifications at at five AM your time and that's on me.
It's okay. I I appreciate it because I go silent mode when I'm sleeping anyway. So don't worry. You didn't wake me up. I saw it when I woke up. We talked about, hey, what are we gonna talk about on the pod? And here's what we're gonna talk about. Austin loves the preseason. He once pitched an idea for I believe himself to watch every minute of every preseason game. I remember that Austin, many years ago. And I was like, man, this guy like I like football, but this guy like really, really, really Likes football. So I'm someone who usually says the preseason's a liar. Everybody settle down. Don't draw big conclusions about what you're seeing in these games. So here's your here's your uh goal here, Austin, is to convince me why I need to pay attention to some of your takeaways from the first week of preseason.
So let's do it. What is first on your list from preseason action that I actually actually need to pay attention to.
I have overarching league takeaways that are important if we have time to get to them. That's a tease there. But let's get to specific team takeaways and start with a team that played their starters on both sides of the ball, a lot of their starters on both sides of the ball, deep into their opening preseason debut. And that was the Tennessee Titans with new head coach Robert Salah and then new offensive coordinator Brian Dayball. And the only takeaway I had from that was going against the Niners backup. These substation survivors. They looked horrible. Like Cam Ward is missing easy passes. It feels like they're trying to press the easy button with him already in the first preseason game. The offensive line at the tackle position feels underwhelming.
I know they just paid Skaransky in the middle there, but like everywhere else, it feels like they have a weakness.
