How you doing, people? I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It is September 28th, 2026. Hope you had a nice weekend. Uh we all did around here, and I am refreshed and ready to roll. So I have no messages at the top of the show for you today, other than we got a banger for you. And let's dive right in. It is Monday, and you know we like to do our Mondays with Marr and uh Bill Maher. The red pilling of Bill Maher, which I've probably talked about more than anyone else, and I've done it publicly and I've worked on him privately and everything else, uh, it's getting, it seems to me and it's it's getting to its end game position right now because now, you know, we're basically five weeks away from this midterm election.
And for the guy that has said, I didn't leave the left, the left left me, and all the versions of that that there are, and many people People did it b you know before him, whether it was me or it was Elon or Joe Rogan or Ronald Reagan, et cetera, et cetera. Uh the rubber is starting to meet the road with him because I think he is realizing that at this point. Even if he was to support the Dems, this is I don't know this for a fact, this is just my prescription of what's happening here. That even if he was to support the Dems in the midterms, the Dems are gonna hate him no matter what. And if he supports the Dems in the midterms, the Republicans will still like him. So it will be very interesting to see what he says on his show on that Friday before the midterms.
And you may say, Dave, it doesn't matter if he ever gets there, and I'm sympathetic to that. Argument, but I do think he is one of the few people that has an audience that, you know, there's a little movement there and could actually change some votes. So interestingly, uh, he as a liberal lives in reality, as a true classical liberal. He lives in reality. So when he sees that good things are happening, as opposed to putting ideology over reality, he acknowledges reality. One of the realities that we are uh that we are having right now is that crime actually is down, and it's in large part because Donald Trump came in and said we were going to be tough on crime that empowered uh Republican governors particularly to do some things.
Here is Mar acknowledging reality when reality appears.
Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. And it's not just drug crime that's weighed down. It's all crime. And again, probably much of it is not political. It's because you can't move two inches in America without being tracked, photographed, and followed by a flock camera. But it's also because when Democrats expand the safety net, there are less desperate people. And because Trump is a badass. No, I don't agree with many of his methods, like how they sometimes just deport people to countries where they have absolutely no connection, like Megan and Harry.

it this way the right thing? No. But it's just childish to pretend that when you elect a f around and find out president, a no more Mr. Nice

Like he sort of was implying that because of Democrats' social safety nets, there is less crime. Like there's no evidence of that. And usually those social safety nets end up keeping people in poverty. It keeps people doing criminal activity and subsidized housing and all that.
