This is Triple M's Rush Hour. The Penrite Oil. 100 years still driven.
Dan Ganane 0:10
Old holidays, Browns. Here we are on a well-deserved break. Well-deserved for me, Jimmy boy. But you, you'll spend more days not working than working this year. You have to be kidding yourself. Anyway, Fat, we're back on air Monday, July 13, unless I decide I've had enough of you, which is highly likely. But before we take off, let's look back at one enormous last week on The Rush Hour. Enormous is the word for it too, Jimmy boy. Very soon we'll hear our chat with the LA Rams superstars, Xavier Smith and Tyler Davis, and the big boy, Tyler. He can bench press an enormous amount. Plus, Comm Games gold medalist Sam Williamson dropped by to give us an enormous plate of homemade lasagna. Well, it wasn't us.
Dan Ganane 0:58
It was you. Where did it end up, by the way? In my guts, Jim. Oh. Plus, we hear from AFLW's best player in North Melbourne's Ash Riddell. She has been enormous for my kangaroos, Fat. Well done, Jimmy boy. I wasn't sure how we'd tie that together, to be honest. Yeah, that's just the enormous talent I have. And when we have an enormous idiot file, that comes from you, as well as an enormously bad joke. But first, Jim, let's hear your enormous cock up. Well, you had the first bit right. And I've got an email here. It's just come in. We have this just off the socials. Yeah, good. Dear Fat of Fats, you're one of the greatest to ever play for the Mighty Cats. What did Jim say at the start of the show? He had a full meltdown.
Dan Ganane 1:49
Go Dockers, Errol. Errol? Have we got it there? Yeah, we do.
Billy Brownless 1:54
But, well, hello to you, Raps.
Dan Ganane 1:59
Hello, Raps. I've been working on my craft. You've been out doing something, I don't know where, and you just sat in the seat three minutes before we went on air.
James Brayshaw 2:11
Like I said, I've been working on my craft.
Dan Ganane 2:23
The Glasgow games aren't too far away, and right now we're joined in studio, and he's brought a special dish in as well. It is Commonwealth gold medalist Sam Williamson.
James Brayshaw 2:34
Now the 28-year-old Sam Williamson. swimming with a new lease of life. After a 12-month injury, he's out and leading the way here by half a body length. He's got the qualification time locked up and he's on the plane.
Unknown 2:50
Great swim. And the comeback is well and truly on track.
Dan Ganane 2:58
Oh, and about to head off. To bloody Glasgow. Welcome to you, Sammy. Thank you very much for having me in the Sapo, boys. Great to have you in. You brought something in. We'll talk about that in the next break because it smells bloody beautiful. I have brought a little treat in. I heard you're an athlete yourself and you're also carb loading. No, I'm not an athlete, but I do like my food. So don't worry about that, Sammy boy, but tell us. That was in the, what was that, in the national trials we just heard then, a couple of weeks ago, where you won both the 100 metres and the 50 metre breaststroke. You've smashed them. Yeah, a little surprise to me, given the last 13 months that I've had, but successfully managed to punch my ticket a few weeks ago at the trials over in Sydney.
Dan Ganane 3:43
Yes, and as you said, you've had a little break. Well, you're smashed. How did you do this, you patella? You ruptured it. This interests me too. Exactly.
Unknown 3:52
You're a swimmer. How have you done that?
Dan Ganane 3:54
You'd be correct for being a little bit confused about that one. Just a regular Wednesday afternoon at the pool. Gym exercise I've been doing for the last four years. Yes. A box jump, put my foot down to take off, and just never left the floor. Tore it completely off the bone, off the VMO, and, yeah, I was just lying on my back, clutching my knee. Kneecap was sitting about halfway up my thigh at that point. And, yeah, in, you know, in an instant, just potentially a career flashed before my eyes. So is... Is box jumping, Sam Williamson, something all swimmers do? Box jumping is definitely something a few of us sprinters do, like the explosive plyometric work. It's something that we've all incorporated in our gym, in our dry land work, just constantly searching for that extra edge just any second you can find.
Dan Ganane 4:52
It's really important that we do that, but you know what?
