It seemed like that trip that had you over in Sweden and Switzerland seemed forever, Pierre, but it's good to see you back. I want to talk to you about Ivan Demidov because now that this Canadian season has come to an end, every show it seems like we're talking about this player or that player, and we haven't really talked about Demidov yet. A player, Pierre, that I'd like to ask you before we take a look at his regular season stats and his playoffs stats, if you recall what your expectations were for him going into the season.
Pierre McGuire 3:29
I thought he was going to be a dominant player for the Montreal Canadiens. I didn't think he'd be a first-line player. I thought he'd be a really solid second-line player as he adjusted to the physicality and the travel of the league, especially with time zones and the games, especially with this year because of the Olympics, the condensed schedule. It's tough on anybody, but for a young kid in particular, very difficult. I thought he had a tremendous season. I really did. I thought the only rookie I thought, Tony, that was a little bit better than him was Matthew Schaefer. I didn't think there was any other first-year player that was better than him outside of Schaefer.
Tony Marinaro 4:05
You know, you talked about him probably and how he was going to do physically speaking. Pierre, when he joined the Canadians last year, had, what was it, a couple of games under his belt before playing the playoffs. He got hit. He got hit hard.
