In 2010 Karen searched for an Electrician to do a small job. The fact that she encountered a mixture of reactions (too busy to quote, came out to quote and never got back to me, never turned up to quote or the quote was ridiculously expensive) projected her onto her journey of wanting to be an electrician, as she saw two massive gaps in the market. In the midst of a midlife crisis, she decided to retrain - the route into trades as a mature person, especially a female one, is not an easy road to travel, however she persevered. She is proud to be able to share that she went on to receive her TMIET Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Certificate.In the last 12 years she has reached the final of Screwfix Britain's Top Tradesperson.
