Good morning, Spillers. I hope you've had the most wonderful, cozy winter weekend. And while we were all doing regular weekend things, the celebrities were, of course, celebrity-ing, of course, up to their usual shenanigans. And this time, when I say shenanigans, what I really mean is getting married because there were a couple of very high-profile celebrity nuptials this weekend. Honestly, there is so much to unpack, so let's just jump right into it. First up, congratulations are in order for Sporty Spice because former Spice Girl Mel C is officially a married lady. She married her partner who is Aussie model and screenwriter Chris Dingwall. They got married in a small ceremony in the Lakes District in England.
Mel C is actually the last of the five members of the group to tie the knot and it actually served as a cute little reunion for the band as well because would you believe it has been three decades since Wannabe came out. That just seems crazy. Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel B were all at the wedding, but unfortunately, Victoria Beckham wasn't able to go because she was over in the US, caught up in the FIFA World Cup final. But she still played an important role. Victoria actually designed Mel's wedding dress, which was a sleek ivory slip dress with a softly draped neckline and an open back. She also designed the outfit Mel wore at the legal ceremony that preceded the wedding bash. Now, Mel C has actually spoken before about never having pictured marriage in her future, but I, for one, am so glad that it's all worked out for her.
Now, to another celebrity wedding, because we really seem to be in the thick of wedding season at the moment, because 1975 frontman, a.k.a. Mattie Healy, a.k.a. Taylor Swift's ex, has married his girlfriend, Gabrielle Bechtel, in Los Angeles. The couple got engaged back in 2024 after just nine months of dating. Okay, Maddie. And apparently got married at a private ceremony with just their family and close friends. Now, several U.S. media outlets are reporting they got married at Madonna's former estate in the Hollywood Hills, and Charli XCX was among the celebs in attendance. Very happy for him, of course, but to me, Matty will always be the man who inspired some of the best songs of our time in Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department album.
I wonder if any of those songs actually made the cut on the wedding dance floor, but somehow I doubt it. They're not really the vibe. Now, just while we're on the subject of weddings, country singer Brad Paisley has spoken out about Taylor Swift's. He said the Madison Square Garden affair was actually one of the least pretentious weddings he's been to. So take that, haters. He also said it meant a lot to him to be invited. He's actually known Taylor since the start of her career back in her country days. He said they were very clear with the invite. It said, if you're getting this, you mean a lot to us. It was really fun to watch the cat and mouse game of like, we can tell you roughly where it's going to be.

Why, you ask? Because we had another mind-blowing celebrity slapping. NFL legend Tom Brady and WWE superstar Logan Paul were at a sports and pop culture festival. It's called Fanatics Fest over the weekend. The pair appeared to get quite heated, exchanging verbal insults, and then Tom slapped Paul before they were pulled apart. New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns got in between the two men and he seemed pretty shocked that they were throwing hands. Tom Brady actually shared the video of the altercation on social media later, simply captioning it, While Paul said, Horrible example for the kids.
