Some other quite nice celeb news for us? I do. Uh so over the weekend people might have seen a lot of clips coming out from a festival. There's a lot of like girl power going on, and that is because Olivia Rodrigo's first ever Daisy Chain Fields festival took place in California. So the it was the inaugural festival and it was in Irvine, California's Great Park, which is where Lilith Fair kind of started, I believe. Yes. Lilith is one of those things of like obviously I never went because
Yeah. I was a child I was a child in another country who couldn't get there. But the lore of that festival, which was like a kind of uh like music but also arts, like women empowerment kind of festival. I know I probably butchered the term, like it means a lot to a lot of people.
And and this was sort of inspired by the concept of Lilith Fair. Uh, and it drew in 45,000 people and it was an all-female lineup, including artists. Obviously, Olivia Rodrigo, this was her idea, this was her conceptualization, so she was the lead. But we also had Chapel Rone, Docci, Mitsuki, Santa Gold, Garbage, Bikini Kill. Like there was a pretty solid all-female lineup for the festival. Garbage. Imagine that. Imagine going and seeing Garden.
Yeah. I would just pass away from
happiness. And by all accounts, I mean, some people have said that possibly this wasn't um Executed the best for a very hot day in California. As in like there were complaints of like heat and shade and people needed water and stuff like that. But outside of that, by all accounts, this was a lovely festival. People felt really like just like safe and empowered and surrounded by other women. And then I guess at the end of the day, that also comes down to the fact that this was for a good cause. So there were ten beneficiary organizations of the festival, and it's like all the money is gonna be split in total across all of them. And that Includes Baby to Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and I think most significantly of the 10 would be Planned Parenthood because Olivia's been doing a lot of content with them.
She's really been a strong advocate for Planned Parenthood. So if anyone doesn't know what Planned Parenthood is, it is an organization in the US that was defunded by Donald Trump for a full year, which they didn't repass the bill to defund it again. Yeah. So it's kind of back to um receiving Medicaid um access now, but they do things like tests for STDs, cancer screening, abortion care. So she's been doing a lot of work with them, and that was a big part of her sort of wanting to do this festival. Yeah. Yeah. But there were a lot of really like big moments that came out of the weekend. Obviously, one of them being she announced the day before that they had raised $10 million for these charities as a result of the festival, which was really cool.
