Yeah, I think, I don't think I'm being hyperbolic when I say it was in a million to one shot, which sounds really silly. But then when you break down exactly what happened, and for people who haven't seen this yet, pause this, go and watch the highlights from the game, the last five, 10, however many minutes it was with delays, and then come back because it is worth it. But firstly, you've got to have a league or a division where winning the title is everything so there have been since Liverpool Arsenal in 1989 there have been occasions in which a title was won by the team in first playing the team playing second on the final day but both those teams were already promoted so the title is not in any way the significant element of that the promotion is so they don't count so this was the first time in 37 years that two teams had met on the final day with everything on the line so that's your first thing that's very unusual
Secondly, the game needs to be level or the situation needs to be level going into the final minutes. So that adds an extra layer of uncertainty, an extra layer of chance. Then the team that needs to win the game needs to score incredibly late on to persuade you that it's done. Not that they've taken the lead and there's still a chance. It was done.

And to add another layer of chance to this, the ball doesn't just go in.
The ball is effectively or seemingly cleared off the line, at which point everybody in the stadium turns to look at the assistant referee who stood watching it.

That assistant referee flags to say the ball crossed the line, there's no goal line technology in the National League, and therefore York go mad. And so there's a second pitch invasion. And at this point, obviously, Rochdale are broken and the York players who were broken are now crying and there's videos of them crying and their fans are on the pitch. So they clear them off and amazingly, fair play to the referee, he continues to play about another 10 seconds for show after that kickoff.
