And welcome to episode 17 of The Trial of Diddy. Happy New Year. It's our first episode of 2025. Marjorie, you're out in L.A. and hello. There's all these wildfires going on. How are you? What's happening?
Unknown 2:18
I'm OK. Thanks for asking, Kayla. It's been quite a sleepless night. There's reports that there's been a thousand structures that have gone. They're now gone out in the Palisades fire. Thankfully, I'm far away from that. My family's OK, thankfully. But of course, thoughts and prayers to all the folks who are affected by the fire. And the firefighters and all the emergency crews who are out there risking their lives to save others, I commend them for doing that because they are doing such a great job.
Kayla Brantley 2:54
Yeah. Well, stay safe. I hope you and your family are safe. And Marjorie, as we logged on to this call to start recording, you got an email saying,
Unknown 3:05
Yeah. So this is happening right now. Breaking news. Daily Mail ran a story yesterday titled Jealous Diddy is Raging that Luigi Mangione is getting more attention than him in their Brooklyn prison. And I just received a response from Diddy's team about the story that we had exclusively. And their response was, quote, this story is entirely false. The allegations of tantrums, jealousy over another inmate's attention and supposed grievances are wholly baseless.
Kayla Brantley 3:41
Wow. So, Marge, are you surprised by that response at all? Because I'm not.
Unknown 3:47
No, not at all. Obviously, Diddy is fighting for his life. So they are, his legal team are doing their due diligence and fighting back. So, of course, they would say the story is, again, quote, entirely false.
Kayla Brantley 4:03
But I do want to give props to the Daily Mail journalists who got that scoop and wrote that story. That's James Ventusca and Hermania Rodriguez-Poleo. And they did a great job, that story. So to give you guys some background, it claims that Diddy is... furious that Luigi Mangione who's accused of killing the CEO of United Healthcare obviously that was a huge story they're housed in the same MDC in the same prison and apparently Luigi is beloved by all the inmates and Diddy's getting so much hate and a source goes on to say that you know Diddy has an ego that's bigger than life even in prison and Luigi allegedly shot someone killed someone on camera whereas Diddy claims that he's completely innocent and yet he's being treated poorly and not to mention that Luigi is really getting along with these prisoners because they've been sharing their own stories horror stories of you know the health care system in the U.S.
