Felicity talks openly and honestly about her experience, explaining what she witnessed and also what she actively participated in during her time as a medical midwife. I believe it helps to have a deeper understanding of the system within the NHS, so that you can understand the importance of taking ownership of your birth experience. You can then learn how to recognise coercive behaviour and if necessary change care provider or step away from the system altogether. Felicity now works independently supporting women who choose to give birth outside of the NHS system.In part two, we will be answering questions and chatting about specific scenarios that are a common occurrences within the maternity system.
