143. Anthony & Tereza Lolli: The Biohacking Power Couple Who Proved The Medical System Wrong

25 Feb 2025

Transcription

Chapter 1: How did Anthony Lolli start his biohacking journey?

11.759 - 18.165 Gary Brecka

That's the most vulnerable time in your life when you're at the before stage because you're like, okay, I'm all in, but this could not work.

0

18.285 - 28.72

The catalyst of his change was discovering that mini bubble of transformation. So it was no longer weight loss where he was afraid of losing that battle again. It was transformation.

0

Chapter 2: What role did Tereza play in Anthony's transformation?

28.74 - 45.591

We had the honor to sit down with the most famous bodybuilding champions. It turns out they're all biohacking. And so we said, why don't we create a situation where we can interview the best people in this bubble and also heal ourselves at the same time? So we created a documentary and we titled it Biohack Yourself.

0

45.691 - 54.712 Gary Brecka

I'm so excited for documentaries like this because I think for the first time we can go around mainstream media and go directly to the consumer.

0

54.732 - 61.794

It was very important to give solutions to our audience. And I didn't want to watch documentaries about how bad everything is. I just wanted solutions.

0

62.014 - 66.69 Gary Brecka

We talked a little bit about the documentaries. What are you going to serve up to the public in the next few years?

0

66.87 - 68.596

Can I tell you two things that blew my mind?

80.356 - 101.81 Gary Brecka

Hey guys, welcome back to the Ultimate Human Podcast. I'm your host, human biologist, Gary Brekka, where we go down the road of anti-aging, longevity, biohacking, and everything in between. And today I'm super excited. We were just talking before the podcast about how the tables are turning to go from being interviewed to being the interviewer. And welcome to the podcast, Anthony and Teresa Lally.

101.97 - 102.371 Gary Brecka

Thank you.

102.411 - 103.371

Thanks for having us.

103.872 - 128.178 Gary Brecka

I'm so excited to have you guys because, like we were talking about before the podcast started, I see so many power couples in this industry now really making a move in an attempt to make a difference. I find that most of them have some kind of story. There was a tipping point, a problem that they solved in their life.

Chapter 3: How did the Lolli family discover mold toxicity and its impact?

177.985 - 179.946

Yeah, we met about 13 years ago, disappear.

0

183.047 - 201.99

Yeah. Well, when our son Legend was born, that kind of broke the camel's back because he actually had a few autoimmune conditions. He broke out in eczema and he had a few things. And that's a whole journey that I went on, right? He was misdiagnosed about nine times with all kinds of... I believe that.

0

202.15 - 223.017

conditions and not only being misdiagnosed, but being given supplementation and medication that would have then made him sicker and more ill. So what happened was the moment they said he has a restless leg syndrome, I was like, I'm done with this. I'm going the other route and I'm gonna see 20 of these other doctors. I had no idea what functional medicine was or alternative medicine was.

0

223.817 - 242.972

But to tie it back into his health was when Legend was up every night, four or five times a night, I was up nursing him back to sleep. And I would hear him almost stop breathing. So his sleep apnea was getting worse and worse. And that was really like, that was our clarion call, right?

0

242.992 - 264.042

It was a clarion call because I had made a decision to kind of die by obesity. So I had tried to lose weight like nine times. I even did the gastric sleeve. Lost 50 pounds and then put on 70. But it was worse because now I couldn't absorb food, proteins. So I was worse off. My BMI was off the charts. And I just said, look, it's not going to work, honey.

264.082 - 279.628

I know you want me to get fit, but this is how I'm designed. But the other opposite end of the pendulum is that my success was growing. So there was no one around me except my loved ones saying, this is not good. It was just a bunch of yes people around me saying, this is great, this is great.

279.888 - 299.807

And so finally it was through her putting her foot down and saying, look, we need you alive because the kids love you, we love you, and we want you to do something about it. And then we decided to really just take it on like I would a business venture. And I said, okay, now I'm in the business of getting myself in shape. So what would I do if this was a real estate project?

299.827 - 305.875

I would hire an architect. I would hire this. In this case, I hired a transformation coach to live with me. Wow. Yeah.

305.995 - 306.795 Gary Brecka

That's a commitment.

Chapter 4: What is the Biohack Yourself documentary about?

339.047 - 359.105 Gary Brecka

And lately I've just said, you know, I'm going to be exceedingly transparent and authentic and talk about my own health journeys because there are still some things, you know, I recently got metal poisoning from a machine that I thought was structuring my water and ended up giving me metal toxicity. And so how am I going to get the metals out of my, you know,

0

359.705 - 376.179 Gary Brecka

Out of my blood, my daughter is suffering from severe mold and mycotoxin poisoning from a mold infection. And there's just not a lot of good information out here. Just like what you were talking about. Classic diagnoses. Now you have restless leg syndrome. You have hypertension. You have hypothyroid. You have mild depression.

0

376.319 - 388.328 Gary Brecka

Of course you do because you're 315 pounds and you're suffocating all night. Now you have sleep apnea. And it's just all of these spokes of the wheel, right? but not really looking for the hub, right?

0

388.768 - 409.813

And you found the hub. Found the hub. That was one hub that I found. And we were able to resolve and mitigate the weight loss situation. And that turned into us really doing a dive into bodybuilding. Because once you learn about transformation, you learn that there's a whole community of people that have completely erased what they look like and they're competing. So we got involved in that.

0

409.853 - 415.594

And then she got bit by the bug and wanted this because now it was the opposite. Now, I was the one in shape.

415.614 - 416.295 Gary Brecka

You guys look amazing.

416.615 - 441.284

He kept calling me, babe, we're the beauty and the beast. But if somebody dares to call you the beast, send them over. But the thing is, you said a hub, right? I think the catalyst of his change was discovering that mini bubble of transformation. So it was no longer weight loss, where he was afraid of losing that battle again. It was transformation. It was a new toy. He was like, ooh.

441.904 - 460.31

There's many people that are doing this. There's many people on Instagram talking and commenting on each other. So it's like, that's what I'm gonna do. So what we did, the first thing I did was to create a visual image of that. So I photoshopped his head on a very muscular model's body on Google. And I printed it out.

460.49 - 466.057

I literally put it on the ceiling in the bedroom, in the bathroom, wherever he spends the most amount of time, above the TV.

Chapter 5: How did the pandemic influence the biohacking movement?

592.096 - 599.143

We would get a lot of those. She would play the mom because she's the mom. It'd be mom, two kids, and an actor dad. Yeah. And he'd be the BTS guy. I would be the BTS guy.

0

599.163 - 602.186

Kind of like what he's doing. That's what I would be doing on set.

0
0

602.487 - 603.508

Watching some other guy.

0

603.988 - 626.819

so anyway it was like you know it was that and amongst other things and then what ended up happening was she's like wait a minute i have a mom bod let's compete so 32 times around the world we competed we did a docu-series about that turns out there's a lot of other couples that struggle with weight and and challenges and and use exercise to bond so this kind of solidified our relationship even further

627.239 - 643.176

A lot of people are actually afraid to dive into that because they think they need each other's space. And there's all these myths about working out together, right? But then there's also this hashtag couples who work out together, stay together. Well, for us, that was an incredible journey of strengthening our relationship.

643.216 - 653.944

So out of nowhere, she becomes a two-time bikini pro. I become a muscle model pro. And then we're like, wow, we made it physically. Turns out her hormones were out of whack.

653.964 - 669.212

I went into early menopause for three months. Because 8% body fat for extended amount of time. I didn't know I wasn't coached. We were being coached for meal plans and getting to that perfect body shape for the competition. But nobody was nutritionally coaching us.

669.312 - 687.84 Gary Brecka

And I think this is something that goes lost on a lot of women. I say it all the time. Intermittent fasting is not a one size fits all. And some of the worst endocrine disasters we've seen in our clinic system were young menstruating women that ate in a very narrow feeding window. They had very, very strict diets or very narrow feeding windows, two hours, four hours.

Chapter 6: How can biohacking information be made accessible globally?

837.241 - 838.522 Gary Brecka

And this was mold toxicity.

0

838.602 - 839.562

This was just mold toxicity.

0

839.582 - 841.163 Gary Brecka

So he got mold in the first three months of his life.

0

841.283 - 862.339

Absolutely. I was told I had mold pregnancy that we were just not informed about that. So therefore, seven days old, he broke out in jaundice. Two months old, he broke out in eczema. Those were telltale signs for me because I come from a country of Armenia and everything is super healthy there. I don't know what eczema is. These things are not meant for us. Right.

0

862.519 - 881.227

I'm just thinking like, what is eczema? Like I don't believe in it. There has to be something internally. So it was just very eye-opening to go through that whole experience to meet all these different professionals, all in a tri-state area where he had to use some of his political connections and call the mayor and say, hey, I know this naturopath is not seeing anybody. Doors are closed.

881.507 - 894.515

Can you get us in? This is for our son. So we literally saw some of the best of the best. And when we put together the pieces of the puzzle, it seemed so much simpler than it was. It was so complicated. It was so dark. There was no guidance.

894.555 - 898.637

But had we went with the recommendations that, let's say, Langone gave us.

898.657 - 900.999

NYC Langone. Yeah.

901.139 - 902.04

Oh, my gosh.
