Why is Autism Acceptance Month especially challenging for the autistic community?
The first two weeks of Autism Acceptance Month have been very difficult, given recent statements made by misinformed individuals. On this episode of today's Autistic Moment, I will have some things to say about all of that in the first segment. In segments two, three, and four, we will be hearing from Emily Goldberg and Anna Voigt with the Autism Mentorship Program. The Autism Mentorship Program brings in autistic adults to mentor autistic teens and youth to provide them with a positive space to be themselves. Anna herself is autistic and a mentor who will talk about her experience working with autistic teens and youth has helped her to be a leader and encourages her mentee to be a leader in their own life.

The movement towards the diversity within the autistic and neurodivergent communities has made so much progress that people who want to reverse and erase all that progress are determined to further denigrate autistic. Yeah. Last week. RFK Jr. stated that by September we will know what is causing the quote autism epidemic, end of quote. RFK Junior further stated that autism is not biological and it must be eradicated. He also said that That autism destroys families.
