Yeah, so I'm afraid it's bad news for staff at Aer Lingus.
Which roles are most affected by the proposed 500 job cuts?
The airline saying today that up to 500 jobs could be cut, and this is because of a planned 6% reduction in its flight capacity. Now, just to give you a breakdown of where those 500 job losses could land, 290 roles under threat in head office, 140 cabin crew positions under threat and 70 pilot positions. Now, these are still could be and under threat. And the reason we're saying that is because a consultation process will now begin with staff and unions about exactly how these job losses will happen over what time period. The reason, as I said, all of this is happening is because of a reduction in flight capacity. Effectively, Aer Lingus is cutting flights. I can go through them very quickly. It's not a very long list, but I think people will be interested because some people will actually be already booked on these flights, David, and they will have to be contacted by the airline and have to get a refund.
