I was born in the middle of 11 grand final wins in a row. I went to the grand final in 77 and 79, sadly 85, and sadly many years thereafter. LAUGHTER I felt great joy and pride in this jersey, which I wear with three Immortals names tattooed onto the front of them with Reg Gassner, Graeme Langlands and Johnny Raper. I continue steadfastly to love and cherish this jersey.

And I knew that was the team I wanted to support. What was the team when you were five? Probably the Warriors. Just through my mum was... like a league fan and all that sort of stuff and her parents were season ticket holders to the Warriors and then I just remember seeing the Dragons play and the iconic strip and I was like I just love it and the other day someone said to me oh you must be a Warriors fan and for the first time in my life I said I wish

It's so true. There's such an emotional attachment to the team and to this.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, you see this kind of run around and it just gets my heart going as well. My father was a massive fan and, you know, he used to sit on a couch with a dragon's blanket underneath him and a dragon's beer coaster, you know, stubby holder. Just absolutely brilliant. How have you coped with what's happened recently?
I'll be honest with you, and this is the benefit that I'll have, and maybe you guys will have compared to those listening. We work within NRL media. And I was talking to David Rico and Brent Reid. A lot of people annoyingly have been checking up on me. Like Luke Curie sends me a text on Monday. How you going, mate? Leave me alone.
What are the arguments for and against unmerging the Dragons and Illawarra?
I got one from Jason Stevens. But the thing that I find, I told him it's cathartic working here because you know, where producers or myself, I do the content as well. I somehow get to relieve my stress through my job. So, you know, if somebody goes at the Dragons, it's not my opinion, but I get to type it up or cut a video and it's like, oh, cool. And then the numbers go up and it's just me in work mode going, oh, wow, people really like the Dragons content. Yeah. Because we're bad. But if I wasn't in this job, I don't know what I would be doing with myself. I might not even be watching anymore. It's gotten to that stage.
How about you, Steven? Yeah, I think again, like you said, working here, we kind of, it almost just becomes work and I don't necessarily think about it as a personal opinion, but seeing how other people have reacted and seeing People who have never talked about the Dragons talk about the Dragons. It's like, oh, is this really where we're at? You know what it hit me?
We have become the new Tigers. Don't say that.
How does Valentine Holmes' performance impact the team?
Because in NRL media, there always has to be a punching bag. And credit to the Tigers. They've turned it around this year. And who knows how far they'll go under Benji. Yep.
